2487 Tasting Notes
Single bag from a TTB. Normally, I love chamomile, but this one was strangely bitter? I even steeped it for less time than usual, so I’m not sure what the problem was. This has other ingredients, so maybe one of those didn’t align with my tastes. Still drinkable with almond milk and sugar.
Another garage sale tea! This is a little savory and mushroomy for me, but it does definitely capture the coffee vibe. I drink it with sugar and soy milk, and the mushrooms bring the right sort of bitterness to make it feel like a cup of unflavored coffee. I strongly prefer Teeccino, but this isn’t bad!
I actually prefer this one without milk. I taste a faint twang of cranberry, maybe a tiny bit of creme, and a relatively unobtrusive black base. Cold, it’s all pretty smooth, though fruity black teas aren’t a favorite of mine. It’s definitely refreshing!
The first time I had this, it was hearty and sweet and well-rounded. It was quite a nice spice combination without being at all spicy. The second time, it tasted plainer, but still high quality and tasty with milk and sugar. The TTB only had two servings in it, but I hope to come across this one again!
You know, I’m never going to be a hojicha person, but I keep trying! I drink this with almond milk to try to help bring out the nuttiness, and mostly, I just taste toasty hojicha. The flavoring I’m sure is helping it be less aggressive than usual, but I wish I could taste more chocolate and especially more peanut butter! I do taste a bit. I think I like this more than any hojicha I’ve had before at least! I’ve had it a few times now, and I like it with whipped cream on top.
This came out astringent the first time I had it, so definitely steep for a shorter time than recommended. The flavor is fruity and nice cold, but I had to add extra sugar and milk to try to smooth out the astringency, which was a shame. The second time, I steeped for only 2.5 minutes, and I drank it cold without any milk. It was still fruity and refreshing! Different from other fruit teas, though I’m not sure I would have been able to identify the pomegranate. I feel like I do taste the pear! I think I’d prefer this on a green base.
Lime flavoring will never be my favorite, but this isn’t bad! I’m glad it doesn’t remind me of lime jello in particular, yet it also isn’t like a fresh, sour, or tangy lime. It’s its own category somehow. I can taste almost an equal amount of green tea, which is refreshing with some bitterness as it sits. This is pleasant cold, but was destined not to be an absolute favorite due to its flavor profile. The second time I had this, I tasted mostly indistinctly fruity, slightly bitter green tea.
I bought a pack of this for fifty cents at a garage sale! The flavor is quite tart and similar to other sour red fruit blends. It’s pleasant iced and better with a shorter steep. Sometimes it’s jello-like. Some steeps are quite nice, and others are super average. It’s a good tea for summer!
Ha I bought a bunch of teas from her actually, all sealed and fifty cents! I love a garage sale find, though this is the first time it’s been tea!
Wow! I have found some pretty good teaware at estate sales including a valuable yixing pot for $6, but never good tea! Maybe a box of Lipton bags…
