2500 Tasting Notes
This tastes quite similar to other mint chocolate rooibos teas I’ve had recently. It’s tasty, and maybe I’d even consider buying some if I didn’t have other ones I preferred. The mint is fresh, and the chocolate is muted, more like a suggestion. The rooibos base is smooth.
TTB sample! I don’t think this tea matches its name very well. It’s not spiced enough for me to consider it a chai. It’s a little fruity, but not super orangey specifically. I find this one to be overall pretty average and muted in flavor.
I prefer chai on a black or herbal base, but this isn’t bad. The spices are a little savory. I taste fennel the most, but the other spices offer a decently well rounded backdrop. The base is a little mild/absent for my preferences, making this a bit thin, but not at all bad.
This didn’t taste like a lot warm. Cold with milk and sugar, it was somewhat cookie-like. Sugar cookies have never been my thing, but this definitely gets points for similarity! I do wish there were more spices or flavors going on, but that’s just the nature of sugar cookies. They’re sugar flavored.
I taste a cooked banana flavor that’s complemented well by the honeybush. Though I’m not sure I taste toffee specifically, there’s something pleasantly desserty in there! Good with milk and sugar. My recent cups of this haven’t been as tasty. I mostly notice the slightly peppery honeybush, which isn’t bad at all, but I miss the other flavors.
I wouldn’t call it spicy, but certainly spiced. The chocolate goes really well with the spices, and the combination black tea and rooibos base is a great choice. This is one of my favorite teas I’ve tried from Nelson’s! Some cups didn’t turn out as tasty as others, but I try to remember it based on the best ones. Sometimes it was a little muted.
As soon as I smelled this, I knew it wasn’t going to be a favorite. Rose is the strongest flavor, and it’s just not something I enjoy. I also taste some neutral fruitiness. I don’t know if it’s the perfume vibe from the rose or added flavoring, but something makes this taste pretty strongly of alcohol, which is a flavor I have an aversion to. So though this is drinkable, for various reasons it’s not a great match for me. It’s hard to know how to rate this because I do think it captures its name quite well, and I probably shouldn’t have bought it due to my preferences.
This tastes strongly of coconut. It’s pretty refreshing cold! I may also get a bit of acidity from the pineapple, in a good way. There’s not too much distinct fruitiness though. It’s best steeped 3 minutes or a little shorter. To me, the recommended time leads to some bitterness. I tried my final cup of this with some milk, which seemed to complement the flavor profile well. It’s not my favorite sort of flavor profile, but it was nice!
