258 Tasting Notes
This blend is pretty nice, I do understand that people prefer their highly caffeinated wake-up blends but I think this cozy sweet, spiced blend is a gentle start to the perfect fall morning. Sweetened with a tiny bit of honey, it tastes like cinnamon bread.
Flavors: Chicory, Cinnamon, Earth, Icing, Malt, Vanilla, Woody
This blend is rather mediocre… it tastes like a plain English Breakfast with a touch of a creme flavor and not a great one. It’s fine but if I wanted something like this, I’d have New England Bfast… it’s much tastier.
Flavors: Burnt, Cream, Flat, Tannic
Preparation
New comfort tea unlocked
This blend is so cozy and warm, it tastes just like warm gooey bread pudding. I may need to grab more before the fall season even begins!
Flavors: Bread, Butter, Cinnamon, Cream, Milk, Rice Pudding, Spices, Vanilla
In my insomnia induced manic cleaning fit tonight/this morning I’ve been speed drinking my flat teas from my cupboard because if I’m going to recommend them in a series this fall over on instagram, why not try and rate them first lol. Just an excuse to binge new teas before storing them away for a few months.
On to the tea:
This is one of the best rooibos and best blueberry blends that I have ever had. It is definitely blueberry forward with a touch of cakey-ness that is delightful for a night time cuppa. Its got a touch of cinnamon but it’s definitely not spiced or cinnamon forward. It tastes just like blueberry crumble with the yummy brown sugar cinnamon crumb. A definite new favorite!
Flavors: Berry, Blueberry, Brown Sugar, Cake, Cinnamon, Cookie, Cream, Honey, Maple, Sugar, Toast, Vanilla
Preparation
I really like this one, I wasn’t sure I would because of my love hate relationship with spiced teas like Hot Cinnamon Spice by Harney and Sons. This however is a nice slightly orangey spiced light oolong. I loved the cardamom too. I already can’t sleep do I’m drinking tea till I drop.
Flavors: Cardamom, Cinnamon, Orange Zest, Spices
Preparation
I agree with what other tea friends are saying about the Terry’s chocolate orange, however I think that the rooibos is more of a Marshmallow like flavor in the mix rather than savory. It’s definitely a darker chocolate flavor but it is rather nice. I know that chocolate flavorings are quite polarizing but this was is worth the try. The orange is on the weaker side but the rooibos makes it like an orange Creamsicle Chocolate orange. It’s a nice blend.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cream, Dark Chocolate, Marshmallow, Orange, Rooibos, Vanilla
Preparation
I like this one, I’ve never tried anything from the Maple Run Emporium before bit it’s quite nice. Similarly to New England Breakfast by Harney and Sons it’s like breakfast blend with the slightest touch of maple. Barely there but noticeable.
Flavors: Malt, Maple, Tea, Toasty, Wood
Preparation
I fell in love with blend last August when CameronB and I did a swap right around the first week of the fall semester. I vividly remember it because I was only a few days in and already swamped with assignments.
As for the tea… it’s just a warm cuppa cozy comfort. I always recommend Simpson and Vail to my friends that are newer to tea because they have so many flavors and types on a college student-friendly budget/price. There’s really a blend for everyone and it’s always so lovely to try something new. I’ve been going there for years and there’s still a ton of blends I haven’t tried yet.
I prefer this blend hot, black, with a touch of honey (usually without it though) just to bring out the maple/french toast flavor a bit more. It’s just so comforting and cozy, it tastes like maple apple crisp to since the apple is the primary flavor. I love it, it’s a stash essential. I’m glad I stocked up on it for the upcoming fall.
Extra info****
My cupboard does not reflect my current sip-down basket. I’m so close to finishing everything that I want to get rid of this summer already. Everything in my cupboard is what I have been gathering (hoarding) for fall. As I go through the summer, there’s a few more teas and essentials I want to grab and all hell will break loose on August 28th (first day of the semester) when I officially break into my fall stash/the currently updated cupboard.
Flavors: Apple, Bread, Candied Apple, Cider, Cinnamon, Clove, Cookie, Maple Syrup
Preparation
Nice! You have great restraint to not break into those new blends! I also don’t have any samples and small amounts listed in my cupboard, so a lot of teas are being finished without actually reducing my cupboard count on here, but it is still a good feeling and I have been able to rearrange my tea shelves a couple of times this year already!
I broke restraint yesterday lol, I made the excuse… why not rate them to recommend them before fall?
Ooh now I want cinnamon toast, LOL!
That sounds so good right now!
