I’ve been reorganizing my kitchen, and found this hiding by the breadbox. When did I get this? It must have been last year, and somehow it got shuffled away from the rest of the stash. Huh.
Oh well, new tea!
This has a touch of smokiness, but this isn’t especially strong. A milder cup than I am used to for a breakfast tea.
Not bad, but not blowing me away.

So my first impression is that the ginger is here, but it’s not a spicy or punchy ginger- it’s more of a ginger spice cake ginger.
Not a bad thing, I will take my ginger as I can get it, but I think I’d hoped for something with a little more kick (or maybe it’s just my sinuses that were hoping that!)

Hello everyone! Goodness, it’s been a while since I logged anything. Whoops.
Life has dealt me a weird hand in the last few months- my mother broke her knee while she was on an international trip, and I’ve been her chief gopher and chauffeur for a while. She’s doing great now, thank goodness! But it ate up a lot of my spare time there.
My boss has also been going for an advance certification, meaning he was studying for about two solid months, and I had to manage the office mostly by myself.
So I’ve been knackered, but now things are starting to return to the status quo.
I also was in a tea rut. I had some of my favorites in the cupboard, but nothing new, and I was feeling a bit bored, so I’ve decided to try new to me teas!
I got an order from Bottom of the Cup the other day (after the post office lost it! Ahh, lost tea! But I finally got it), and I’m sipping on this.
I’m really getting the grenadine in this, which is nice, though I’m not getting much of the vanilla in this .
I’m just excited to have new teas to try!

Good to see you! This sounds a lot like some of the Monk’s Blend versions I’ve tried over the years.

Its a gloriously warm day- those precious few weeks where the weather is beautiful, before it gets just too hot.
So a light, fruity tea is just the thing to sip on this morning, while I enjoy the pleasures of the perfect temperature.

We’ve hit that weird part of spring where its cold and rainy one day, and warm and sunny the next. This is terribly hard one ones wardrobe, alas.
So it’s an in between season, as far as tea flavors go. But fortunately I like salted caramel year round.
Hmm, not sure what I think of this one. Its smell is stronger than its taste, but I am not tasting that sort of toasted burnt flavor that is what happens in some caramel teas, so that’s a plus.
More cups will be required to finalize my thoughts.

Last week was a week of False Spring- it was warm, perfect weather. I wore linen and a straw hat, and started to turn my mind to warm weather flavors.
But this is the part of the year where we get a brief, teasing burst of spring, and them winter come back. Its cold and rainy today.
Honestly, I don’t mind. I shall sit with my cup of warm tea, in my robe, and enjoy the cold while it lasts.

Last week’s spring sure was nice, wasn’t it? Usually I’m tired of the rain by February but I always welcome the last reaches of the rainy season. The return of cold is not as welcome :P Stay warm and dry, Rosehips.

I feel that every time I update all I say is “life has been crazy and I have been very stressed!” This is currently true, but is also not a fun thing to keep saying. Argh.
This tea has been on heavy rotation in the last few weeks- strong, comforting, elegant and always appropriate. The little black dress of black teas.

Perfect tea for International Women’s Day! Stress is real. I hope the tea helps you breathe a little better!

Its been an odd week- and somewhat upsetting. Work has been crazy, and yesterday someone in my theatre company collapsed. She was alright in a moment, but it was very alarming! I’m glad she was ok.
This means that I’m not quite well rested today, and I’ll take this cup of comfort and hope that it really helps me get through today, which also promises to be long.
This really is such a sophisticated tea. Elegant, yet strong.

Happy Valentines day to one of my true loves- tea!
Thank you, tea, for being there for me, and for always making my day better. A day without you is an impossible thought.

The best laid plans, eh? Saturday I was helping with a theatre company project, and was on my way home when I was involved in an altercation with nature that left my windshield caved in. I am amazingly unharmed, but I am still picking glass off everything I own, and it’s rather going to derail my day, as I need to get it fixed.
I spent yesterday curled up on the couch watching British crime shows and drinking tea, which is a nice way to recover from it all.
This tea is my attempt at a morning energizer. Its not bad, but I do find apple teas sometimes a bit bitter.
Well, thats sort of fitting too.

Glad you are safe!

ashmanra

That sounds scary! I am glad you are okay!

Martin Bednář

Whew, glad you are safe!

Dustin

Oof! I’d spend a day curled up and recharging too! Don’t know if you have this in your area, but it’s been magical for me… mobile auto glass repair. They come to you and replace your car windows at your place! It’s amazing.
Hope you can get everything sorted quickly!

ashmanra

I second what Dustin said! Our truck’s front windshield was replaced right in our driveway years ago. So easy.

I love tea! I confess that I was a hot chocolate lover for most of my life, but recently a switch has gone off in my brain, and suggested that I might just love tea. And I do!
I’m a bit of a novice, but an enthusiastic one, and am happily sipping new varieties all the time.
I love vanilla, fruity, and caramel flavors, and cant wait to try more.
