From DAVIDsTEA

How it tastes
Fresh, cool minty flavour and aroma

It’s love at first sip with this organic peppermint tea. Said to stimulate passion and creativity, our peppermint is also fair trade, for great taste and good karma. It’s a naturally fresh, cool and comforting herbal tisane. And though it may be totally caffeine-free, that doesn’t mean it won’t awaken your senses.

What makes it great
• Peppermint tea is a classic remedy for an upset tummy.
• The active ingredient in peppermint is menthol – said to be great for soothing the throat.

Ingredients
Organic peppermint leaves from Oregon and Washington State.

Nice full flavor. Doesn’t require much leaf to create a nice cup of tea

Peppermint tea is the type of tea I really grew up drinking before I got into different teas. I would just get grocery store peppermint and I had no idea what I was missing until I tried this loose leaf peppermint.

I was shocked that the steep time was 30 seconds to a minute, but following the instructions and steeped for about 55 seconds.
I drank this cup so quickly it was just that good. I went about my afternoon and decided I wanted more. I had planned this time to be working at my desk so I opted for making a whole small teapots worth.
It was still amazing and still made me happy, the added benefit of no caffeine is a nice plus.

I was also surprised at how much tea you get with only 4oz, much more than most teas

Regarding peppermint loose leaf, I’ve found it tastes best when brewed way below boiling and with short steep times. Less musty, lighter and sweeter.

I will have to try it with a lower water temperature! Thank you!

Mastress Alita

I love it iced, too. Sometimes I just stick a bag in a water bottle of ice cold water and let it cold brew and sip on it in an insolated thermos. Refreshing and calms my tummy.

that sounds great! How long do you cold brew it for? or do you just start drinking it soon after

Mastress Alita

Sometimes I make a liter batch in the fridge, and usually I just set that overnight, then strain and drink it the next day. Other times I just put a few teabags worth into my insolated water bottle filled with ice cold refrigerated water from the Pur pitcher in the fridge and just leave the bags in the water bottle and take it on the go; I usually give it at least 30 minutes before I start drinking from it, the flavor will taste more like water with some mint leaves early on but quickly turn into that “mint tea” taste later.

First of all, wow. This is a strong, “wake-me-up” kind of peppermint tea. You can feel it in your sinuses, and definitely sense a cooling sensation on your tongue. It would punch the cold out of me, if I had one. Be careful with steeping this one too long.

It’s hard to go wrong with peppermint leaves, and DAVIDsTEA’s Peppermint Amour is definitely doing peppermint right. It’s a very nostalgic blend for me to drink; my mother drinks a cup of peppermint tea almost daily, and she has definitely passed her love for this classic herb onto me. It also does wonders for stomach aches and cramps, making this a must-have tea for me.

However, all that praise aside, I don’t find this peppermint tea to be all that different from the kind you can get from Tetley or other grocery store brands, so DAVIDsTEA’s offering is not the only good option for a classic peppermint herbal. I do find Peppermint Amour to be a little more potent than other peppermint teas I have tried, but it’s really not enough for me to drastically prefer one brand over another.

This is a good peppermint tea. Very fresh tasting. I am conflicted writing this note because I think that it’s not wowing me right now because it’s winter and I prefer “warmer” flavours for the winter, like vanilla, chocolate…flavours with layers and depth. However I could see this tea being amazing in the summer hot or cold.

A very smooth mint tea. It resteeps very well, I usually make 3-4 cups or 2 pots with the leaves. Since this tea is so light is super cheap, which is fantastic.

This is a good peppermint. It has a nice strong flavor, and doesn’t get bitter if you leave it brewing until the end of the cup.

Delicious, refreshing herbal tea. I would love to drink this again. However, as everything at DT is over-priced and Oregon mint leaves are the sole ingredient here, I think I’ll buy some at a natural store next time.
