Made this to go with my spruced up Salsa Salad kit (I added fresh corn, red bell pepper, avocado, black beans and chicken to the kit). Cilantro always makes me think of either Indian food or Latin/Spanish foods…so I chose this one. It was a nice refreshing cup, better as it cooled off…

I have a little of this left, so thanks to CrowKettle for tossing this one my way.

Very. Yummy. A little reminiscent of Cantaloupe and Cream in the melon department. The base is different and not as creamy as CaC. This tastes like real watermelon though…not that candied fake stuff. It’s pretty awesome tasting but CaC was my first love.

Oh, CaC is my first love also.

It was the first Butiki Tea I ever had…and I was sold on them. Nearly everything I have had from Stacy has been great.

keychange

It was my first also, and I think I’m having a similar experience to you. It’s hard not to fall in love with nearly everything she makes.

This is a pretty nice tea. It’s not as strong as say, Divine Temptation from Bayswater, it does still have a light hazelnut and vanilla flavour and warmth, but it is pretty mild and smooth.

I don’t know if it is something to have on hand all the time, or whether I would buy it, but it is nice, and I thank Cavocorax for including this with her samples at the Vancouver meet up/swap.

Had this again today…double steeped for kid’s mug and timolino since it was cool and wet out this morning (though the sun did poke through eventually and warm up some). It was careful on my steep time, and I got a nice earl grey tea with a slight grapefruit taste at the end of the sip. With milk and sugar. I’m sure the milk makes the grapefruit a little less in your face.

I only have about one serving left, and I may bag it and have Starbucks or someone give it the London Fog treatment. :)

drank Mango Lassi by Butiki Teas

I could swear I made a note on this one already, but I guess not, so this is a backlog.

I had it with Singapore Cashew Curry from Noodle Box (take-out) and it was a very nice compliment. I found, that even as a rooibos, it was pretty tasty. I was nervous with the base which is why I opted to share this and get a small sample with our co-op group.

It smells really good, and it is another gorgeous tea. It’s pretty tasty, and more mango tasting than DAVIDs current Mango Lassi. That one tastes more like Buttercream without the white tea base, from the fall collection a few years back. I thought I’d prefer DT one because it is an herbal blend, not rooibos, but I think I like them for different reasons, and I think I may actually like this one better simply because it is more mango-y and the other is more mango and chamomile.

I don’t know if I would regularly stock this one, but it is nice to have a rooibos I like.

i have this coming for our daughter. =0)

Maybe I did not get the amounts of stuff all balanced, but my mugs were not tasty at all. They were weak with a bit of a cough syrup like aftertaste.

I think this tea smells amazing, but when I started drinking, I picked up more chamomile than mango, which is odd. It might be the 7 minute steep they did (it was a TTG today). I did pick up a small amount to play with at home. As I was walking downtown with my mug, I was thinking to myself how remarkably close to Buttercream this tastes, without the white base. I do add milk to Buttercream, so I do want to try this one with milk too. I don’t seem to love this one quite as much as Buttercream. At least not with this present steeping, but maybe a later one I will. I may also just buy this to mix with white tea and make my own buttercream.

I’m thinking that in pure terms of tasting like a mango lassi, neither this, nor Butiki’s really taste like them, but Butiki’s is way more mango-y than this one. I like them both for totally different reasons. They may have the same name, but they taste nothing alike to me.

Oh god, silly chamomile. I had DT’s pistachio cream to go the other day (iced), and it was delicious. Having it hot was another story entirely though, and the chamomile hit me in the face like a ton of bricks. Blech. uggh. Eww.

Plunkybug

I may try Pistachio Cream cold steeped, but not a fan hot.

I think this one is pretty good, but I think it depends on the palate. It does smell just like sticky rice, though in taste, it is mildly pu erh. It is probably one of the lighter pu erh infusions I have had before. I think this could be a really nice tea when you want something with a bit of body, but not overwhelming. This one comes from Incendiare and she has it when we was sick, and I think that is a good time to have it, though for me tonight, it is a cooler night, so it has just the right body and depth.

It is pretty unremarkable in flavour, because it it rather plain, but it is still tasty. I know that sounds contrasting, but I just mean that there isn’t a wow factor, just a nice and simple yum factor..but I don’t think I would go out and buy this for regular use. I wouldn’t mind haveing a few of the tuochas around though, do those rare occasions where I want something simple and tasty like this.

Backlog…ugh, oversteeped or overleafed and it was bitter and astringent. This tea deserves better. Hopefully next time…

This is from OMGsrsly so if I futz up the rest, I can probably secure more fairly easily.

Steeped tonight with hubby, and it is way way way better(!). I did add a little sugar still (less than normal) and some milk. but I am getting a maple taste now. Yum!! It’s like I have maple syrup running down my throat with each swallow.

OMGsrsly

(Try it with sweetened condensed milk… :)

I don’t have any, but I will at some point.

This one was pretty good. It was smooth and light, and I was able to take it without milk, though I might have milk the next go, only I dob’t have much left, so I might mix it with something. I do prefer the Caramel Vanilla offering better.

I think I have Cavocorax to thank for this sample. It was nice to be able to try a well reputed straight assam.

I generally like a lot of tea. I do find I have a preference for flavored over unflavoured, but I do love a good straight tea as well.

Likes are too hard, since there are a lot. Dislikes are easier, so here they are…

Hibiscus. Blech. I can tolerate a little, depending on the brew, like Berry Good from Davids and Ruby Pie from Butiki…but in general, it’s too tart and too strong for me.

Licorice. Anything that remotely resembles licorice is out too, so that includes fennel and anise. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Florals. I’m cool with petals in the tea to make them look pretty (except rose), and I’m cool with teas like oolongs having a floral note, but strong florals can give me migraines. Rose and jasmine are the biggest offenders. This is one where it can vary on the blend, as I can handle Teavivre’s Peach Jasmine Dragon Pearl tea because there is very little jasmine actually detectable in it.

Rooibos is hit or miss. I can do some, but not others. I handle green better than red, and honeybush better than rooibos.

My ratings don’t have a particular scale or method, and may on occasion contradict themselves, but I’m honestly not fussed about that. Sometimes I don’t even rate at all.

Um, I have an extensive wishlist. It is both a list of things I want to get again, and things I want to try. If you are sending me something, and you want to know which is which, I’ll tell you via PM.

Yes, I do trades…usually on request though. See something you want to try in my cupboard? Just shoot me a message and I’ll see what I can do!

Uh, guess that’s it.
