quite an amazing blend, i fully recommend it!

the green + oolong give it a lovely earthy baseline while the berries and raisins make it light and sweet. beautiful balance.

it also resteeps fantastically (7 times???!!!!) very impressive!

1 tsp turbinado in my 16 oz mug. meets the literary description of ‘nectar’ from all my reading. :-)

tried to update the image for this tea… steepster is not in the mood to accomodate.

i found this tea very smooth, not astringent, not bitter… when i picked it up it read rather as a vanilla berry earl grey. that said i found it rather muddled; definitely not an earl grey, hardly a hint of bergamot…oddly it tastes fairly significantly of apples?

smooth black caffeinated apples.. it’s not bad. just lacking focus.

HOW CAN AN ENTIRE BROWSER THAT HAS BEEN UNINSTALLED THEN REINSTALLED HAVE A VIRUS? argh.

this is a great tea. must admit i am hedgy about lavender (not listed here as chrome takes umbrage against every keystroke i make…) but it not only fits perfectly with the tea somehow gives it a scottish feel. i know i know, scotland is more known for heather than for lavender, but somehow this tea carries a lovely gentle purple hue.

light, fresh, lavender is balanced by a hint of rose with a great punch of black tea caffeine. i wouldn’t change a thing. superb.

apologies for my lapse, friends. this reviews signals a change. :-) since mid november last year i’ve been at tent city in victoria bc as a support worker. i have been wrangling police, fire, mcfd, provincial reps, parole boards, POs, street nurses, harm reduction teams, MPs, MLAs and news crews. (did i miss anybody? lol) in short it’s been a brilliant zoo filled with incredible characters both tragic and hilarious. that said i am reviewing a DAVID’S tea because i am so broke (did i mention i was unpaid?) that even a DT encroaches on my budget uncomfortably.

i enjoy mates. i like the hum version of caffeine it parcels out and the lack of a crash afterwards- a nice steady caffeine climb. is this the highest quality mate… no. BUT it’s summertime. this time of year i make iced tea… and i never use my highest quality teas to make iced tea, so this tea is more than adequate. it’s light, fresh, tangy and fruity.

back to school and i started paid work this past tuesday. yay affordable mate! also yay 82 million dollars towards affordable, accessible, low barrier housing on vancouver island… it’s a good start.

would i recommend this tea? YES!
to someone who can justify (after many days) a costly expenditure….
seriously, from wow to OW (price wise) back to wow.

canadians, don’t bother with the website call head office, the tea crew are dedicated and polite.

looks like tendrils of oolong caramelized in honey or toffee or something ridiculously decadent.
tastes like honey chocolate but not too smooth… it has a velvet aspect that makes it thicker somehow, each sip more prolonged.
resteeps well…
i still don’t get how a tea can impart ‘thickness’ without being thick but it does.
the depth of flavour is excellent.
hate to say it (although i really do appreciate capital teas)… but this crazily priced tea is worth it to me. (and i say that as a student accruing debt) perversely, you get an expositional high sometimes by saying ‘i paid THIS much and i was WRONG!’ (we are weird animals)…. but i’m not sorry a bit for buying this tea. i just have to make it last a loooooong time.
