I was honestly expecting to be more offended by the taste of this one based on the ingredients. It brews up to mostly taste like rose and honey bush. I can detect the licorice in the scent and aftertaste. I don’t particularly like that taste, but I’m trying to acclimate myself to it so this is a good one to sip for that purpose. Overall it’s pretty good if you like rose teas. I use this on the go when loose leaf isn’t an option.
Used 1 teabag. Infused for 8 minutes.
There’s a savory aroma in the brewing tea that reminds me of the smell of horses.
I really like the savory mix of spices with the mint. It is balanced quite nicely.
Thanks to MissB for sharing!
Flavors: Mint
Preparation
1 teabag used. Infused for 8 minutes.
Creamy and chocolate-y. I would definitely try to infuse longer for a longer time in the future or use double tea bags to get a stronger flavour.
Thanks to MissB for sharing with me!
Flavors: Chocolate, Creamy
Preparation
The one ingredient that I was looking for the most was the caramel and it is the one flavor that I cannot taste no matter how long I steep it. To combat the flavor I add Cold Stone sweet cream. Despite the disappointment about the initial taste, it is a good bedtime tea. After drinking it, I do feel sleepy and relaxed. Most of the time I use 2 bags instead of one.
Preparation
Bleach. Sorry MissB but this is definitely not for me. All I am getting is weirdly sweet anise (think aspartame type sweetness) with a slight chili kick every now and then. I am just not a fan though I am happy I got to try it and see for myself. Thank you for the chance to do so!
I’m not a chai lover and I didn’t like cacao so I am probably not the target audience for This tea. Still, as I sip this, I can see it being a favourite among those who do enjoy those teas. When I took my first sip, I immediately thought Mexican hot chocolate. However, it goes beyond that. The barley base keeps this from being too dense but also contributes a nice roastiness. The vanilla is also a nice touch as it adds a touch of brightness to the cup. There is also a nice warmth from one of the spices, I’m thinking it’s ginger but I might be wrong about that. Overall, it’s not something I would reach for but it’s a tea I would certainly recommend. Thank you MissB and Sil for the opportunity to try it out!
This tea reads like a litany of my favorite herbs and flavors: basil, turmeric, lime, spearmint, chili, ginger, lemon, cardamom. I read it initially (in French) and was all… Huh? Did I read that correctly? Okay, I’m trying it.
So glad I did! It’s a hard one to describe, other than it’s spicy (but not hot at all), granular from all the spices (and because I let it steep forever), smooth, full, almost chai-like, but then there’s all that citrus-y mint stuff going on, and the basil… I could drink this all day, every day.
Flavors: Cardamom, Citrus, Ginger, Mint
Preparation
I’m a bit scared to try it iced… although it would be a challenge to do so in -2 Belgian weather in an AirBnB at the moment. A challenge for me, that is. I’m also scared because I’d want it like a chai with some milk, and all that citrus (there’s orange in here too, I discovered) would make things curdle. If I can keep enough of this on hand for when I return to Canada, I may try it iced? I dunno, I’d hate to waste the leaf, it’s just so darn interesting and tasty.
Sipdown (125)!
Somehow this made it into my bag of tea that I took with to Regina, and then home with me. I don’t really know how; I certainly didn’t grab a bag of it from my Mom’s cupboard. Best I can reason is that, since it’s one we were looking at/considering making tea pop with, someone – in an effort to “tidy”, tossed the bag we were looking at for ingredients into my stuff?
Anyway; I drank it – because that’s what you do, right? I wasn’t impressed with it at all though; it reminded me of a crappy, bagged tea version of DT’s Bravissimo, sorta. Mostly it tasted like weak, watery licorice root? And maybe some spices like cardamom. But very unimpressive and flavourful overall.
Free sample from the company. I’m usually not too fond of Yogi teas – too many ingredients. This one has a fairly reasonable quantity of ingredients and I like that they’re organic. What I really like is that the cocoa shells dominate everything else in both scent and flavor. There’s also hints of roastiness, pepper, and cinnamon. Buuut mostly it’s cocoa. Yummy yummy cocoa. This reminds me a lot of Herbal Infusions’ Cacao Tea, though I think I slightly prefer that one.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cocoa, Pepper, Roasted
This tea is so lovely! The smell is so delicious I wish I could have it as a candle. I’m the kind of person who likes to sweeten my tea with honey, but this only needs a tiny bit! Very delicious and I look forward to drinking it every night.
Flavors: Honey, Lavender, Sweet
Teabag sipdown continued!
I finally figured out what this one reminds me of— it smells exactly like Apple Jacks cereal.
It gets better and sweeter from the cinnamon the longer you let it steep, but still nothing particularly memorable about it otherwise.
Will not restock.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Popcorn, Sweet, Vanilla, Wheat
This tea is like a chameleon. Some sips it’s a mildly spicy Mexican cacao, others it’s a mildly spicy ginger with a smooth fennel/anise, yet other times I get the coolness of mint, and it always ends with the sweet smooth fennel/anise. Chili? Not to me, not at all, but I can see how this might be “spicy” for some.
Flavors: Anise, Cacao, Ginger, Mint, Spicy, Sweet

Well, this didn’t suck.
I know that’s not the nicest way to start a review but….I really expected it to suck, so it’s a better start than it sounds like. It was nearly too sweet, though, since I almost never sweeten my tea. I hadn’t realized that licorice could be so sweet! The rest of it is something that could grow on me, especially if it left me feeling better. We’ll see.
Flavors: Licorice, Sweet
I bought this tea on a whim at my local whole foods. I have asthma and I figured, “hey, why not?”
This goes in the ‘not’ pile.
The scent of thyme is strong in this tea. I don’t particularly care for thyme in my teas, nor in my cooking. The second time I steeped this tea, I forgot about it for a minute too long. The licorice root became angry and it’s flavor was very syrupy-sweet at the tail notes. The eucalyptus was also a bit much. I did get some of the ginger as well as some indiscernible herbal flavors. Maybe the elecampane?
Another note: I don’t think it did anything for my lungs anyway.
I don’t want to give up on blends for respitory health, but I may just give up on this one.
Flavors: Ginger, Herbaceous, Licorice, Thyme
Preparation
I have found that ripe Puerh makes me feel better when I have asthma difficulties, by this I don’t mean I breath much better, I just feel better.
Oh yes. Oh very yes. For those who loved a certain cacao tea that was more Mexican hot chocolate than cacao, this is your new replacement. It is mine! A mix between a Chai and cacao, with vanilla and barley thrown in… Delicious.
I have to agree with other reviewers: there’s not much hazelnut or vanilla flavor in this tea. It’s much more of a cinnamon/herbal flavor, with little nut/vanilla taste to go around. As a spiced herbal tea, it’s decent. But it fails to convey the two flavors that it lists on its box.
Flavors: Cinnamon
Preparation
My first review in the new house :) I have a lot to do so this teabag comes in handy for a quick sip down. The bag smelled rather dry and spicy with prominent clove and pepper tones.
It says to leave in boiling water for 5-10 minutes so while I wait I will read the little quote on the teabags tag. ‘Have wisdom in your actions and faith in your merits’. Also gives me time to quickly check the Cyber Monday deals on a few cross stitch websites. Already bought myself a Marilyn Monroe kit and teapot kit.
Once cooled slightly (enough to sip) the flavour is very thick and herbal with a linger spice aftertaste. It tastes almost chemical, there is something in it that is unpleasant, it could be the licorice root as I am not a fan of it at all. Besides the licorice root I can also taste: clove, pepper and cinnamon. They blend together and the licorice taste takes over, very thick and refreshing though plastic like.
Unfortunately it is not pleasant to drink BUT I have a wave of tiredness come over me. My eyes are heavy and I’m yawning all of a sudden. It’s either the tea, my rush around this morning had latent effect or the result of listening to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (which is my favourite album). Or perhaps a combination of all three. So not a great tea but drinkable, though huge warning label if you don’t like licorice.
