1598 Tasting Notes
We went to the zoo today and I rushed out the door without any tea and while we had a great AWESOME day, (especially because no one was there!) I’m totally drained and in need of tea.
I wanted something fantastic, and this is it.
I can’t believe JustJames sent a sample of this as I would totally be tempted to hoard it. :P OTOH, when you have something fantastic it’s exciting to see how others like it too. Either way, THANK YOU. :P
And so, how to describe this? I wish I hadn’t drank all of this today in a way because my head isn’t quite able to describe this.
It’s liquid moonlight. Vanilla dancing with cornflowers. Soft perfume floating in the air and a touch of sweet blackberry fruit to give it some weight.
I had Adagio’s Jane Austen Mafia yesterday, and this is the grown-up version of that. Superb.
Preparation
This is my standby tea for roleplaying day. It’s just a great tea, and one that I always want to re-steep, which makes it easier/quicker for me to refill while we play!
And here’s another fantastic sample from JustJames. The base is light and delicate in a way that I associate with french teas, while the smell of violets pervades the cup.
This is an enjoyable cup, but not one that I would go out of my way to pursue – I just don’t think I’m THAT into floral teas. Still, I won’t say no to the occasional cup.
Preparation
Oh, gosh. I really love this. Smooth creamy orange, and soothing chamomile… I’m hoping to get more from VariaTEA in a swap! :)
(no. I didn’t add Kahlua to this. I’m not much of a drinker).
I meant to check today how much of everything I have but I got so sidetracked with all my new teas that I completely forgot. I will check in the morning and we will definitely arrange our swap before Monday.
I got 25 g of 25 different teas so I am in tea heaven right now. Especially given I also have teas in the mail from 52 teas and a couple of swaps on their way. I am a happy, HAPPY girl! Unfortunately though, no one seems to have ever had tea from the tea shop I shopped at today so I need to make pages for all my new teas.
Oh! OMG.
The secret to this tea is to brew 10oz of this tea, then mix a combo of 6 more oz Gingerbread Kahlua and milk.
I am in love!
Yeah! We saw it in the liquor store today and I had to take it home! They also had a peppermint one, but… this was a no-brainer.
And that’s the last of this. I enjoyed every cup of it, but don’t feel like I need to re-stock it any time soon. I realized that my H&S teas were a bit flat because I was underleafing. Silly me. These Nordic mugs are 16 oz – not the 12 I’m used to. It still tastes a little “thin” but I’m enjoying the stony fruits.
Bye for now!
Liquid moonlight is a wicked description.
Love your description. I’m now lusting after this tea!
sounds nice!
That does sound fantastic!
Want!
I’m glad you guys liked my description! :) It was a very lovely tea.
