1598 Tasting Notes
And there goes another of the samples from JustJames! Now my cupboard is at 88, which is nearly half of what it was in the summer. That’s crazy!
I think this is another one I’ll have to stock up on, somehow, at some point. It’s creamy, with strawberry and smells delicious. I don’t even mind the rose petals – it just adds a touch to the fragrance without making it perfumy.
I wish I’d realized that this was a black/green blend as I steeped it at near boiling, but this isn’t bitter at all. It’s just fragrant, and fruity and perfect.
Preparation
For every sipdown I’ve had lately, it feels like I add 5 teas to my cupboard! I need to follow your example. Work down to the favourites. :)
Hahah. Well you’ve found a surplus of sales lately, so that doesn’t help! And I’d be in the same boat as you if I was working right now. :P As it is it’s REALLY hard not to buy more or jump on every sale. I’ve shown great restraint for the past few months, but that’s sorta flown out the window with Amoda, Teavana and now Black Friday. :P
(not that I’m complaining. We have money, I just can’t be ridiculous with it)
yeah…. i jumped on the 30% off sale at teavana. the folks there are very good with me. i’m picky and they know not to push. they made me a custom blend!! =0) i’m excited! i got stuff for other people too….
I couldn’t wait to have this again, and now it’s gone.
Ahh.. C’est la vie. :P
Ahh.. C’est la vie. :P(Also, this sorta reminds me of Butiki’s Caramel Vanilla Assam. Except it doesn’t re-steep as nicely).
Thank you VariaTEA for this sample! I sorta jumped on it as soon as I opened the package – it just looked so good!
And I thought it was pretty good too. It was maybe slightly lacking next to DT’s White Chocolate Frost, but if you let it cool a little the flavours sorta pop out a little and it tastes good.
So good that I almost took advantage of Teavana’s 30% sale. Eeek. I’m terribly impulsive, but I did feel a bit of satisfaction when I closed the browser (for now) and moved on. :P
Anyway, I have one more cup of this left, and I’m certain I’ll enjoy it.
Preparation
Could you taste the licorice in this blend? I’m always hesitant to drink teas that have licorice in them.. not a good flavor for me. I’m curious to see if it’s prominent.
Hmmm.. I didn’t notice, but I wasn’t paying attention to it either. :( Sorry. I’ll see if I notice it next time, but at least it wasn’t as obvious as DAVIDsTEA’s Choconut.
I can taste it just a little in the aftertaste. I’m not sure if it’s because I add sugar, but it comes off more like sweetness. I had no idea licorice was even in this until I was logging the tea and I really don’t like licorice root so that was kind of shocking.
And what better tea to follow up the Choconut Oolong with, than this? It’s a cup of pure minty YES. It’s my favourite bed-time tea at the moment, although Mango Lassi is a close second. They’re both perfect for different moods, so I guess I don’t really have to choose.
This the last of the Winter Collection that I haven’t tried. I love peppermint, so I’ll have to swing by and grab a sample, or it might be in my 24 days of tea.
Goodbye. Good riddance.
Not added to my shopping list.
And I’m going to do a dance for this sipdown. The cup was ok – it was better than throwing it out, but there’s not much going for it. I just wanted to finish my sample to make double-triple sure (as I had high hopes).
And that’s another matcha gone! (81) :O I try to drink one cup a day (a big one with 2 scoops!) and only keep 4 flavours open at a time to help out with the freshness.
What did I think? I like this – it’s creamy and sweet and enjoyable for times I don’t want to be overwhelmed by flavour (i.e., pumpkin matcha, or bubblegum). Would I get it again? Maybe. There are so many other options out there, but, I would’ve say no to more.
mmm i’m trying to do the same thing. I just haven’t been in the mood for matcha lately..and i’ve got a zillion different packages still. haha
I was doing really good with my one cup of matcha a day, then I just stopped lol, need to get back on that and finish up my older ones, I haven’t even tried out my new matcha bowl yet! Lol
My matcha is my biggest weakness in my collection, in that I’ve had them forever but I have gotten bad about drinking them. I need to start a 1-a-day program, maybe after Black Friday.
I had a sample of this before, direct from Nina’s Paris, but JustJames surprised me with just a little more. And I’m happy he did. I still think this is my favourite from Nina’s Paris. I just love the caramel and vanilla.
I may have to pick up some for myself. :)
I really like this tea. I haven’t had it in loose leaf before, but I bet it would be better.
oh no!
this is lovely. i have had 2 whole tea bags of it! lol.
The “chapters” in Newmarket sells this, in the sachet form. I just saw it earlier today. $10. Marked up a bit I guess but you avoid shipping. In case you’re interested. I am not a fan of Paris so didn’t get any but was pleased to see a huge Harney selection there.
Thanks! I don’t mind the sachets either so I’ll remember to check Chapters!
I was just going to post that it was in Chapters! I bought a tin of it at 10.00. Not terrible considering on the website it’s 8.99 I believe.
That’s really good considering the shipping from H&S starts at $15!
