1962 Tasting Notes

My dad brought this back for me from a recent trip to Tahiti. It’s a fine black tea, with a very nice (and strong) natural tasting vanilla. I added a splash of oat milk, and it was a great way to start the day.

Brewed this at the same time/temp as I did last time, but added honey instead of sugar and it was a million times better. Actually made this for my boyfriend, and I was fighting him for the cup.

This is a favorite for me. Had about 4 cups of it yesterday. So wonderful- smooth, creamy, and delicate. My favorite milk oolong.

Just made this again (this time steeped directly in oat milk on the stove). Wow. I had to increase my rating to a perfect 100. It’s incredible, truly the perfect fall tea. I’m trying to wait until Black Friday to purchase more, but I’m having difficulty waiting that long!

You are really singing this tea’s praises! I might have to place an order now too. :)

In short- I find this tea gross. The ginger comes off as artificial and almost chemical-like. All I can taste is the stevia and pineapple, which really turns my stomach combined with the overwhelming ginger aroma. Dumped.

I was super excited to see that this would be in my Bird & Blend subscription, as I’d been wanting to try it since it was announced. When it arrived, I was a bit hesitant about the smell- I mostly got a synthetic chocolate note, which I generally hate. I finally steeped this up- directly in some oat milk on the stove. It’s just okay. I don’t really get hazelnut. I find it to be more chocolate+marzipan.

DavidsTea has really impressed me with their new teas for this holiday season. I’ve LOVED Wintergreen Wonderland and Satsuma Spice Cake, but this is my favorite so far. It tastes just like a sweet potato pie! It’s really the perfect cozy fall tea. I added a bit of oat milk and it was wonderful, but I can’t wait to try it as a latte.

Whatttt. I thought I wasn’t going to make a Black Friday order from them this year, but it looks like I may have to.

I’m in the same boat. I just placed an order to try the new stuff, but I need more!
