Sipdown 73 – 2024

I found most cups to be quite woody, with lots of tobacco and just a hint of dark chocolate.

This smells odd. The berry aroma is really nice, but the coconut adds an unpleasant smell.

The coconut is less noticeable in the flavor, but the hibiscus is strong here. Really tart, berry. It’s fine, but I was hoping for more of the berry flavor to be present.

A bit boring. Orange/cinnamon. Lots of hibiscus.

Another blend in my holiday stash that I’m just not loving anymore. Slightly bready/cakey tasting, with a touch of fruit. But, there’s an astringent quality that is throwing everything off-balance.

Oof. Not loving this anymore. Really artificial tasting. So incredibly sweet.

Lupicia’s grape is just the best. Absolutely love this blend.

Finished off another 25g bag. My forever cupboard staple.

Starting to switch from fall teas to more winter/holiday blends. This is still tasty, but I think the flavor may have faded a bit. Hard to tell, because I can’t quite remember what it tasted like before, and apparently I never wrote a tasting note. I’m getting mostly almond, and no trace of orange. A touch of a pastry note, but mainly the almond.

Made a quick ochazuke using this at work. It was pretty mild, actually a bit too mild to hold up to the bold flavors of the furikake I used.
