1118 Tasting Notes
Tonight was back to school night at my son’s school, so I made myself a cup of this to sip on while walking to the building. Nice cool night, delicious tea, and I had the chance to talk to my son’s teachers. They seem like absolute rock stars. I raise my cup to anyone who chooses to teach and works at doing it well. You’re awesome! :)
Also, I oversteeped this, but it was still fabulous. Win!
Preparation
I am in need of a comfort cup, and this tea is doing a fine job. The oolong flavor is more pronounced this time, but the blueberry and nutmeg flavors are still present. A few moths ago this would have bothered me, but now I’m really liking that the tea itself takes center stage and the flavors help the oolong shine. I’m sure I’ll resteep this several times over the course of the afternoon.
Preparation
Tea of the morning. I have to say this is one of my favorite teas. There’s notes of stone fruit and good crusty bread at first, and then it morphs into a salted caramel flavor at the end of the sip. What’s not to love?
I’m running really low on this one, so a visit to the WPT site will be in order very soon.
Preparation
Tea of the morning. I like how bright this tea is. It manages to have a lightness to it while still having body. Maybe it’s the spicy notes or the fact that the malt note never overwhelms the tea. I don’t know, but I do know that this is a nice tea and I’m happy to have it in my cup today.
Preparation
I made myself a nice big mug of this because it’s the first day of autumn. The cranberry, almond, and vanilla flavors against the base tea are sooo good. This is definitely one of my fall favorites, and I look forward to many cups of this one in the coming months.
Preparation
I like the mix of elderberry and cinnamon in this tea. It’s warm, comforting, and incredibly soothing. Everything a good herbal tea should be.
Thank you, kimquat, for adding this to our swap! I’ll be picking up more of this once the cold weather rolls in.
September Sipdowns: 22
That sounds like something a mountain granny would serve her young’uns, doesn’t it? (off to locate the cinnamon sticks)
Tea of the morning. I’m having trouble motivating myself to get up and moving, and sipping on this lovely tea is just making me want to stay here and enjoy. I really like the crusty bread, honey, and sweet potato flavors in this tea. It’s so good. Good enough that I’m going to have one more cup – maybe two – and then I’ll think of tackling my to-do list.
Preparation
I just had a late lunch with a friend and am trying to ease back into work. This tea is making that much easier by acting as my dessert and afternoon cuppa. The mint is soothing and invigorating, and the Fujian tea has great dark chocolate notes. The combination, along with a little sugar and cream, is nothing short of sublime.
