Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon Pearls Green Tea

This is truly fantastic. When I made my last order, I looked here to seek out reviews for the best the company has to offer, and wasn’t necessarily expecting a ton from this sample. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It is so much more subtle than most jasmine teas, though I do like jasmine, and the tea itself is lightly sweet and fresh and green without being bitter at ALL or intense. Truly a balanced flavor, even with multiple steeps. I am amazed.

I think I may have slightly oversteeped this one while I was getting my smoothie ready :(. It’s still quite awesome though: a light green tea taste along with jasmine. Yum. I love watching the little pearls unravelling as they steep :)

I wonder if I should get a filter for my water – I always use tap water when making tea and I’m getting a bit of a mineral taste to this tea which I don’t think is the tea’s fault. It might be something to look into…

The pearls are really small little marbled green and brown pearls. The liquor is a pale yellow, very pale yellow.
The texture is silky and the taste reveals a soft jasmine, very natural and not overwhelming.
This is probably one of the very best jasmine teas I had for sure.

This is one of the best, if not the best Jasmine green tea. Classic color. Perfect fragrance. Whole body taste that is simple yet sophisticated. Highly recommended!

I have now tried a few different varieties of jasmine-scent tea, and these Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon pearls from Teavivre are among the best.

To begin with, they are ravishingly beautiful! The white ribbons rippling through the perfectly shaped spheres are truly a joy to behold. The dried tea has a strong jasmine scent and the liquor brews up pale peachy green with a jasmine flavor and super-smooth, buttery texture. This tea was so tasty that I could not stop drinking it—and that means a lot on the most humid day of summer so far this year.

I am looking forward to the second infusion later today!

If you like jasmine tea, these are pretty much pure perfection. These are smaller and sweeter than most other jasmine pearls I’ve tried, and the base has a really light almost butteriness that’s only enhanced by that delicate familiar flowery flavor of jasmine. It’s not cloying or artificial, just amazing really.

I was able to get 4 steeps brewing with a standard gravity steeper, and probably could have gotten one more, but it was inching close to bedtime. Will definitely have to experiment here. Especially with my gaiwan.

Unfortunately this was a sipdown, so to the shopping list!
