I’ve never had GABA before! I haven’t tried it long enough to say if it’s a more relaxing tea than others, but I do find this particular variety delicious. It tastes like a white tea to me, with sweet notes of melon and hay, but with more body and resteeping power. The leaves are nice and huge, so allow lots of room for them to open in your steeper. I’m very pleased by how well this resteeps. Tastes the best when it’s cooled a little. Great tea sent to me by Sips by.

Received from Sips by. This is one of the nicest green teas they’ve sent me. Dry leaves are super fragrant, and are pleasing to look at with their long twisty style. Classic vegetal flavor, but with very nice depth. Has the thick, cozy mouthfeel I enjoy – I know some people hate that term but I don’t have another word to replace it. :)

Different from my usual style of tea. Earthy and savory, it reminds of the few times I’ve tried puerh. Been a long time since I’ve had a tea from Yunnan, it has the distinctive taste I remember. To me tastes kind of sharp? Hits the back of the tongue with lots of flavor, really nice. Great to resteep, give yourself time to get at least 3. Mushroomy aroma. Spring 2018 batch.

Sent as a sample in my order. This is a surprising tea – main note for me is toasty chocolate.

I received this tea as part of my Field to Cup subscription. This will probably be my favorite from this months offerings. A thick feeling, familiar tasting black tea. Nothing extraordinary , but good.

Mmm this is delicious tea! I love roasted oolong. This one is reaallly roasted so if that’s not what you’re looking for stay away! Besides the toastiness it has a floral aftertaste, and a very rich caramelized honey undertone. (For the second steep anyway.) I don’t know if that would show up unless you steep using quite a bit of tea like I did. Verdant sent this tea in the cutest little 5g packets, so I used the whole packet and am doing incremental 10 second steepings, starting at 20 sec. Later steepings start to get more mineral and woody.

drank Caramel Nougat by Tea Forte

This tea was given to me as part of a set some time ago. I mostly have been leaving these flavored teas for company who like flavored tea, but I really wanted something different today and I thought I’d try it. First thought…meh. It’s ok, but I’m not really tasting the caramel. I taste mostly hazelnut and orange. So I added some milk and sugar. Bam! There it is! The caramel still isn’t super strong, but I can actually taste it now. A dessert tea for sure!

I love tea. I first tasted loose leaf when my grandpa brought some back from Russia and I remember just savoring it. Not sure what kind it was; all I remember is that it was loose leaf and it was good. =)

I really enjoy oolong, jasmine tea, and white tea. I especially love those black teas with chocolate notes! Also, chai is a constant favorite. I enjoy green tea, but need to be in the mood for it to actually want it.

As far as tisanes go, I enjoy chamomile and occasionally a mint. I am interested to try rooibus and honey bush. I do prefer teas without artificial flavoring but I’m willing to try most things.

I know next to nothing about puerh, but I like what I have tried so far.

I am consistently amazed at the flavors contained in one leaf. I am on a quest to discover all of them! Slowly, though. Good tea is expensive. :P

Other things I enjoy: Books. My family. Truth. Campfires. Animal Rescue. Gardening. Sushi. Mountain biking. Documentaries. Trees. Music. Culture. Sour cream raisin pie. Not necessarily in that order. :P
