Almond Sugar Cookie

This is all sugar cookie. It’s the perfect balance of hints of almond with a sugar cookie sweetness that somehow isn’t sweet at all.

The aroma is nutty heaven. Can really smell the almonds and some sweetness. Smells like cookies.

After 3 minutes, it was still a very mild flavor, so I’m just letting the leaves sit in there as I sip it to try to bring out more flavor. There are biscuit/pastry notes, almond, sweetness, butter, cream… It’s just really mild. It’s pleasant though, and I’ll definitely finish it. :)

The scent really is that of an almond sugar cookie. Somehow they managed to actually capture the cookie scent. The flavor is a bit of a letdown after that amazing fragrance, but still nice and enjoyable.

Sweet, malty, & full of nom-noms.

I had shared this tea with a coworker. She made this into a latte (per suggestion from the note on the packet) while I had mine ‘black.’ Upon listening to her taking her first sip of the tea, I assumed that by the “Holy shhhhhhhh*t,” she liked it.

I liked my cup, too, and will look into finding more of this, if available.

Wow, this tea is amazing! It smells like a Mrs. Fields cookie stand (do they still have those anymore?) and tastes like exactly what the name promises: smooth, buttery vanilla almond goodness. I’ve had other almond cookie teas before that tasted more like marzipan, but this one actually tastes like a cookie in a cup! One of the best dessert teas I’ve had in a long time.

A delectable tea this one is. It might SEEM similar to some of the other almond teas out there, but this one is different. The almond is much more toastier than other almond teas I’ve tried. More toasted almond than a sweet marzipan flavor. Butter notes of the sugar cookie in the background. It’s a lovely flavor, especially on a cold winter day. I love the slivered almonds and the orange flowers in the blend. The black tea has a nice thirst quenching quality rather than a dark,rich flavor, which might sound weird with a toasted almond flavor, but it completely works here. The second steep is just as flavorful. It’s very hard not to love all of these S&V teas. It’s impressive.

Sipdown number 18! Phi gave me a generous sample of this delightful blend. It’s sweet almond cookie goodness. Not marzipan. Almond. Two solid steeps. I maybe should not have gone for a black tea so late in the day but… oh well? Not much I can do about it now.

Less steeping time and a little more tea can go a long way taste-wise! I like my black teas sweeter and the trick to this tea is to steep it a lot less to make it less bitter. I might try it at a different temperature next time too to see if it affect the taste as well. I love the almond and slight vanilla notes while sipping this tea. It’s like a dessert in a cup :) Had to pass this along to my mother to share the love of this tea.

Sipdown! I think for me ATR’s Brioche edges this one out, but there are still a lot of nice aspects to this tea, and I definitely enjoyed it while it lasted.

I love this one! Definitely one of my favorites from S&V. I noticed my tin was very low after sending some off in a swap package, so I decided to leave it out on the counter and finish it off.

So, so yummy. One of the few teas that actually does taste like cookies or pastry to me, despite many others claiming to. And it has a lovely rich almond flavor that doesn’t taste like marzipan or almond extract, which I also find quite rare. There’s a light creaminess to it as well, and because of that it brings to mind some sort of fluffy choux bun delight, filled with whipped cream and topped generously with toasted sliced almonds. Not quite a cream puff or éclair, as it lacks the eggy richness of the crème pâtissière, but it does have that light buttery flavor that reminds me of puff pastry or choux.

So much nom. Will definitely reorder this one once I’ve pared things down a bit. (She says, optimistically…)
