6444 Tasting Notes
Sipdown (300)
Finished off this sample. It was enjoyable enough but not something I need to keep stocked. Today is the first time I get the slightest touch of ginger but more than anything this was an orange rooibos to me. Nice enough but not really to my tastes.
Matcha Latte Sipdown (301)
I like this. I don’t get much earl grey or matcha, which for me is a plus but for others could make this lacking in some ways. It’s got a sweet blueberry vanilla flavor. It’s not true blueberry but candy blueberry. Honestly, it reminds me of the DAVIDsTEA blueberry matcha with a touch of vanilla creaminess.

I pulled this out in hopes of making it as a latte but didn’t have enough leaf. Instead, I just made it. Alas, this cup, like the others, left me wanting more. The idea of a caramel vanilla chai is so appealing but it always falls a bit short of my expectations. I think its because 52 Teas does vanilla so well and its just lost here. There also isn’t as much caramel as I expect. Chai is the most prominent flavor, specifically the pepper today.
Made this as an iced latte this time but didn’t mess up the amounts. The weird thing is it is still sort of meh and I blame the NecessiTea’s version of Butterbeer since that is much more root beer flavor than this. Perhaps I should try that as an iced latte and have this one plain.
ETA: This gets better as I keep drinking.

Thank you Roswell Strange for sending this my way and also for listening to my rant about wanting to be lazy and use the matcha maker but thinking all the flavors I had left would be better as a latte or iced. I narrowed it down to either this or Blueberry Vanilla that would work as a plain matcha and clearly went with this one.
I am happy with it. These matchas are all clearly sweetened so the peach flavor that comes through is like candied peach – like fuzzy peaches without the sour part. The blueberry here is less distinct for me but is similar flavor to the blueberry matcha from DAVIDsTEA. Despite the sweet and flavoring, I also do get some grassiness from the base. That gets stronger and slightly more bitter as I keep drinking but I think part of that is the matcha settled so I am getting more matcha.
Other than the cookies and cream matcha by Red Leaf Tea, I don’t think an Oreo tea ever occurred to me. When this arrived from Dollar Tea Club, my interest was piqued but if I am being honest, I am not sure if it is meant to be Oreo despite the name. The tag on the package mentions something like dipping an English biscuit in warm milk and that doesn’t say cookies & cream to me as much as cookies & milk – a subtle but important distinction. So, with that said, I am not really sure what this is actually meant to be…
Weirdly enough, drinking it, its a touch blackberry-ish and also somehow cookie but not oreo cookie. There is also something that says milk. It’s honestly quite weird. I guess I can see where they were going but I also think it misses the mark of cookies & cream.
This arrived in my order from Roswell Strange for the holidays and I thought it was meant to go to her since it sounds like her type of tea. I asked and turned out it might have been a sample – a large 50+ gram sample.
When I opened it, I was thrown because I could have sworn this smelled like banana runts. No clue why that’s what I got but it is. It came through in flavour as well. Some sips were banana runts, others were pretty accurate pear and candy-like cinnamon. Either way I like it but I am confused by it.
Thank you Roswell Strange for sending this my way, even if unintentionally so!
Yes, lol! If it had more ginger, it would be awesome.
