6444 Tasting Notes
U is for…Uncle Iroh
Today is crazy busy because I have an exam tomorrow morning and I literally only started studying for it today at like 11. The apathy is real my friends. Alas, have to push through 2 more final exams and provided I pass them all, I will be done law school! Of course that also means I get to study for the exams of all exams, the bar exams in June…That’s a problem for another day though…
This tea is cold and floral. I have one serving left and will write a proper note when I have that.
T is for…Thé des Alizés
I brewed this and The du Hammam for 3 mins at 160F – 1 pftsp in an 8 oz cup. I am writing this down because they came out super well. The base in both teas are completely muted, allowing for the lovely fruit flavors to come though. This one is just sweet peach perfection. Peach candies, to be specific as opposed to the fruit.
T is for…Thé du Hammam
Is there vanilla in this? I am getting a lot of vanilla today. I checked and there is none so… I feel like the blind tasting challenge on Hell’s Kitchen where you always think the contestants are dumb because they are given a piece of garlic and say its something weird like mango and you’re like “seriously?!” Maybe its the rose? Something sweet and almost creamy…
I am getting citrus too. I have had so many creamsicle teas lately and this tastes like a creamsicle. That’s why I keep thinking vanilla.
T is for…Thé du Louvre – Courtyard Tea
Most of my “T” teas (lol…sorry) are by Palais des Thes since they all start with “Thé”. I picked this despite the many options because I don’t actually know what is in each tea offhand but this one is in a large tin so figured I should probably try it sooner rather than later.
I believe this is some sort of bergamot tea. That is based on smell of the dry leaf and having now drunk it, its definitely a bergamot tea. It’s a really nice bergamot tea though. Super smooth and light. It also has a touch of jammy blackberry that lingers after you finish drinking. So, as far as bergamot teas go, this is a good one. Or I am just excited and wanting to like it because I have a whole tin.
T is for…Tie-Dye Butterfly
Cold brewed this one overnight. I noticed when I took the package out of the drawer to set it up that it was put away fully open. Oops. Thankfully I only lost a little bit of leaf.
This made it such a far way in the March sipdown tournament and the entire time I kept forgetting to cold brew it. Cold brewing is the best way to go about this one in my opinion because it balances out the flavors nicely. Adding heat seems to pull some more sweetness from the blackberry leaves, which can make this almost cloying. While the cold brew is still sweet, I find it almost has more of the passion fruit flavor and thus is a more acceptable sweetness.
T is not for…Strawbearry Gummy
…but I made this last night as a cold brew for the “S” day and didn’t end up drinking it. Drinking it now, it is super sweet. Like a bit too much I think. And a bit waxy. I haven’t had this problem before but I also haven’t cold brewed it before so I guess I won’t be doing that again.
That’s fantastic! You are so close, congrats! What kind of law are you going to practice?
I studied to be a paralegal for a while and was hoping to work in family law.
Before I went to school, I did a Law Clerk program and worked at an immigration law firm for a couple years. I am doing my articling at the firm. I am not sure if that is what I want to do forever but I have enjoyed it. I also have really enjoyed Wills and Estates law.
I loved learning Family and Criminal Law and was pretty good at both but I don’t think I want to be in court/negotiations that much.
I feel you! I am pretty much same. Of course, no bar exams here :) but finals for sure. I have 5 exams left.
Woohoo, getting close! Prayers for smooth sailing!
I imagine immigration law would be pretty chill.
It’s so strange that our laws have become so complex that lawyers often find one or two types of law to practice instead of being a jack of all type profession.
