Glitter tea! So fun and a nice distraction from reading. It’s got a berries and cream sort of vibe happening. Enjoyable.

I’m not a huge fan of hojicha but this made for a really lovely latte. It was not very sweet but still perfectly captured a chocolate mint truffle in a very sophisticated and high end type of way. I will say I wanted sweetness when I made this so I was a little sad but I could still appreciate that it was a nice tea.

This is one of the exclusives from the first sub box I received from Deb and with the new box arriving, seems as fitting a time as any to give this a try. Also, the latte made with Deb’s Banana French Toast tea was fresh in my mind so it seemed a good time to make this and compare the two.

Right off the bat I’m going to say I prefer the French Toast as a latte. This is more cinnamon and if I didn’t know better, I would think apple. It’s also not as strongly flavoured which means it’s harder to taste through the prep method. I have more of both teas so I can try them plain but so far I’m meh about this and much prefer the banana French toast

Thank you Sil for sharing this one with me. I made it hours ago and have slowly been drinking it while studying. It’s fruity and smooth and has a nice honey vibe to it. I wish I paid it more attention while I drank.

With the new sub box arriving today, I thought maybe I should try teas from the past box/my order. Made this as a latte and the banana smell was just so good! This actually tastes like banana pancakes to me. The banana is super distinct and super sweet and reminds me of a slightly overripe banana – which is how I like them. Also, Deb loves her maple and that comes through here but doesn’t make it flat, like I find it does with some of her other blends (I don’t know if that’s because it’s a latte though).

Thank you for sharing this one Roswell Strange but it was just too sweet and didn’t deliver in taste what it promised in scent.

I was really excited about this because it smelled awesome but something in this is off. Not rancid, off but off as in it seems out of place for what Deb intended. It’s an astringency in the base tea I think that’s really muscatel and distracting. Odd.

Cameron B.

I’m with you, the astringent base really hurts this one IMO.

I am glad I am not the only one who had this issue.

Roswell Strange is awesome and signed me up for a three month subscription to 52 Teas for my birthday. This is one of the twas that came in the first month’s box. Many of you probably know I’m over pancake teas and as one of the original pancake teas I ever tried, I have had this one in particular many times. That said, it’s what caught my attention when I went downstairs at midnight for a late night latte following a long day of reading. Honestly, it’s a pretty delightful latte right now. Lots of maple syrup notes with a distinct pancake flavor. It suits the prep method very well. Thank you Roswell Strange for the chance to revisit this one!

Tiffany :)

What a lovely birthday gift! :)

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
