Yesterday I went cheese shopping and bought a honey bee goat Gouda and that’s inspired a tiny honey kick. A Quarter to Tea has a distinct honey flavour that finds its way into a whole lot of teas it shouldn’t but it’s right at home here. That honey joins in with vanilla to counterbalance the small kick of space. It really is a great tea and despite being over two years old, it’s still delicious.

I feel like Marshmallow Assam was the most brisk, the Vanilla Marshmallow was a bit softer, and French Vanilla Marshmallow Assam is even softer. Personally, my preference is for the Vanilla Marshmallow but all are delicious.
This particular one is soft but has a whole lot of marshmallow yum to it. Less vanilla than I recall in the Vanilla Marshmallow but still enough that its detectable. Plus, you also get flavor from the base which gives this enough body that it works as a good morning tea (I say as I drink it at 4:36 in the afternoon).
With all that said, I don’t find myself reaching for this one often enough so I am passing on the last of my sample to someone I know will appreciate it. So this is goodbye and I am okay with that…at least for now.

Drinking this plain and I am getting a flavor profile a lot more similar to the scent of the tea than I got when I had this as a latte. The flavor leans heavily on spice, which means caramel is not really prominent but gingerbread is. It’s a nice enough tea but not nearly as good as I hoped so I am feeling ok about saying goodbye.
I made this as a latte and it came out soooooo pretty. Like a cute and unexpected pink color so that made the latte all the more exciting. Plus, with a touch of whipped cream, it was quite the lovely latte.
I used 1% milk so it was a touch on the thinner side which allowed the honeybush base to come through a touch. But, once you get past that touch of base, you get a whole lot of berries and cream. So. Good!!

I won an Instagram giveaway by Tickled Tea and it arrived today. When adding the teas to my steepster cupboard, I noticed how low I rated this (30) and was curious if I still felt the same way. Tbh, I highly considered just putting this right into my swap box (or the bag for Sil which has taken the place of my swap box while I wait for her to come get her teas), but I decided to give it another try.
Honestly, this tea is still not great. But it also isn’t “30” bad. It’s mostly just flat and muddied generic spice blend. I think they may have reworked the ingredients b/c I recall this having stevia in it but when I checked the site just now the ingredients contain turbinado sugar and maple flakes instead. That could definitely explain the improvement. However, while it is certainly better than it was, so many companies know how to do this flavor profile so much better. Glad I gave it another try though.
This one smelled good but the combination of vanilla and herbal lemongrass is coming off a bit waxy and artificial for me. I think it is exactly what it purports to be but this is just not a flavor I want. Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing though since its always fun to try something new.
People LOVE this tea. Like really love it. On here. On Facebook. Sometimes that scares me because sometimes when there is so much love, it could just be people giving into the hype. Or sometimes the tea is really that good. Honestly, the love for this blend and how quickly it spreads reminds me of when Steepster was in its prime and through word of mouth and sharing samples we all fell in love with Nina’s Japon by Nina’s Paris. Well, this tea was shared with me by Roswell Strange who shared quite a bit because she truly believed I too would love this tea!
I am happy to report that Roswell Strange was right and I am really enjoying this tea as a latte. This is the right amount of sweet and the right amount of sweet potato. It’s got a lovely touch of cinnamon. I have never had sweet potato pie but I have had sweet potato and I think I can imagine the pie portion and based on what I am imagining, this is pretty spot on. It’s creamy and delicious. Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing!! This is a real treat and surprisingly lives up to the hype…at least on first tasting when I am excited about something new
My sister and I were in the city for a dentist appointment so we decided to pick up some pasta for dinner from a small shop where everything is made fresh by little Italian grandmothers. This shop also happens to be located pretty close to Toronto’s Cheesecake Factory so we went there too to grab some cheesecake to bring home.
My usual Cheesecake Factory order is a slice of Carrot Cake and a slice of Carrot Cake Cheesecake. However, they don’t have the latter so I went with something new. I considered a Cinnamon Bun one or Mango Lime but ended up getting the Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake instead. Having now tried it, it was fine but I likely wouldn’t get it again. So many other great options.
However, when having my cheesecake, I decided to make a tea to have with it. Guess I was feeling pineapple since I grabbed this tea. Alas, I drastically overloaded it, using a DAVIDsTEA perfect teaspoon of leaf in a 16 oz mug except it was a new perfect teaspoon and thus about 2.5 tsps of tea which is way more than the recommended amount by 52 Teas.
I am blaming my overleafing because this mug is smoke and leather. Nothing distinctly pineapple at all, which is highly unexpected since I’ve had this before and know it has a great pineapple flavour. So the tea and the cake were both just ok. Hopefully Wall-E, which I am watching for the first time, is a little more pleasing…

Forgot to press start on the timer and since I assumed the timer was going to go off when I had to get the tea, I forgot about that too. By the time I remembered, the last of this was so oversteeped that the floral not was just way too high and I dumped the mug. So I guess this was more of a dump down than a sipdown.
