6444 Tasting Notes
I made this by mixing it in warm milk and I feel like I should love it but I don’t. It’s got a custardy taste and mouthfeel and has a burnt sugar vibe to it but I’m just not loving it as much as I hoped. Not sure why but that’s where I’m at with this.
Wow. Oddly enough, this tastes like something I would love. Kinda sounds like Creme Brulee, which I adore in any form.
Honestly I love Creme brulee too which is why I don’t understand why this didn’t work for me. Everything about it screamed I should love it and I just didn’t.
I can’t say that, because I haven’t got a matcha from B&B yet (I have one small sample though) and moreover, I never had this one.
Maybe, it’s just you. Maybe it is not that good.
Lol fair enough though having had others from B&B that I’ve enjoyed, plus being able to appreciate that this doesn’t taste bad in any way and other positive reviews, I think it’s just me and this one don’t get along and that’s perfectly fine since I, like so many others, have more tea than I know what to do with :P
For some reason this tea was not in my steepster cupboard but I have a lot of it since I stocked up when AQ2T announced they were going out of business. Tbh I have been a bit terrified to try it since I received it in August because I have been panicking that it would not be nearly as good as I remembered. However, steeped it has made my entire bedroom smell as mouthwatering as I recall this tea tasting. With that said, I managed to let it get quite cold and while it does remind me of the last batch, the base comes out a bit more at this temperature and the berry is a touch tart. However, I know the love is not gone and I probably just need to drink this while it is still at least warm.
I finished off my package of this and am now working on the package from Sil. Made this as a latte and though it’s good, this tea is actually better when cold steeped in milk. Regardless, I’m happy that I have more to enjoy however I make it. Thanks Sil!
I am so used to cherry teas being a bright pink/red but this one is not. It is yellowish like a lot of herbals or even green teas. Yet, despite the color difference, this smells so much like all the other bright red/pink cherry teas.
Tastewise, it is herbal-y with some cherry flavor. It is like if someone dropped a splash of cherry onto herbal meds. It is soft herbals but still more herbal than fruity and definitely not what I hoped for when I brewed the mug.
I have been going back and forth between my place in London and my sister’s place in Waterdown. I am at her place more than I am here and since reading week is next week, when I head back to her place on Thursday, I will be there for 10 days. Consequently, I don’t think it makes a lot of sense to order groceries to my apartment for the next few days when they will just be sitting for almost two weeks. With that said, I also tossed all my eggs and milk and everything else essential last week and since I thought I may want a latte, I decided to just go grab some milk from the food servery in the law building. I don’t ever buy anything there so when I noticed a few interesting sounding kombucha flavors above the milk, I decided to just go for it and pick one out: this one. I was inspired by Roswell Strange who is making her own kombucha to revisit it.
I haven’t loved kombucha every time I tried it and this is no exception. It has the vinegary smell that all kombuchas do which is why the fact that this is very sweet took me by surprise. It’s just heavy sweetness that is sort of strawberry with a touch of lime. Yet the lime is still sweet. I just really need something to counterbalance the sweet that I am not getting here. It’s nice enough but definitely not for me. Nice to revisit it though, plus it is a local company using local ingredients which is always great.
I had this one last night while playing Scattegories with my brother and sister. I wasn’t paying too much to the tea because I was focused on the game but I remember at one point thinking there was a whole lot of sour cherry and a whole lack of pie. Then I started to focus a bit more and there was something that was a touch buttery and pie-like. So it was Cherry Pie if you focused and I was happy enough with it. Thanks for sharing, Roswell Strange. Also, it seems I was significantly more focused on the game than my brother who at one point decided to write down all words starting with “F” despite the letter we were playing being “J”. Prior to that mishap, he was in the lead.
This smelled amazing when I packed a sample up for Sil so I decided to bring it to my sisters to make a latte since I don’t have milk at my apartment. It’s a bit annoying this has rosehip because it makes the latte plan slightly risky while not adding to the tea but this happens a lot with Bird and Blend teas and this time I decided to risk it.
While the latte isn’t bad, the flavour is definitely muted compared to the scent. Also, I don’t get much in the way of salted caramel tea. It’s like a sweet chai. Nothing special…not nearly as good as the smell would imply. I have 1 tsp left so I’ll try it plain because it smells deliciously gingerbready and caramel and I’m just not getting that here.

This tea has been rattling around my cupboard since November 2017 and it just seems time and time again I keep passing over it in favour of something else. Because of that, the rest of this is going into my swap box in hopes that someone else will give it more love them I have.
It’s unfortunate I don’t drink this more often because it is a nice tea. Passion fruit has a pretty distinct flavour and I get a whisp of it but without the name to cue me into it, I don’t think I would immediately identify this as a passion fruit tea. Creme you do get though. Creme and the white tea base with that passion fruit adding just something more. I actually enjoy it when I have it, even after two years, but it’s just not mind blowing enough that I need it or will miss it.
