Had this with breakfast. Don’t remember much about it other than it was good and I drank it all pretty quickly.

I was really sad finishing this off in today’s mixed berry smoothie until I realized it is back on the DAVIDsTEA website. I have really enjoyed this one and so it will be one I am repurchasing sometime soon most likely.

The smoothie today is really good. The honey flavor is coming through so strongly but not overwhelming the berry flavor. To me, it’s as if someone drizzled honey over berry coulis since it doesn’t have the tartness of mixed berries but does have the flavors.

It was brought back with the Bee The Change campaign :) Also, I can’t remember what your thoughts are re: lavender, but the Lavender Honey is pretty similar to this one – same honey flavouring in the two.

VariaTEA

Not a fan of lavender so thankfully I can grab more of this one

For some reason I wasn’t excited about this one but I am really enjoying it. It’s juicy and spiced and just delicious. Best hot but still nice when cooled. Hotter it was nice citrusy clove and as it cools, a lot of pear has come through. No base, which is my preference. This is one I’d have again for sure.

drank White Ginger Peach by The Tea Haus

Cold brewed this is some diluted lemonade (since I only had about 2/3 cup of lemonade so the rest was water). It’s quite good. The base is a little more prominent than I’d like so it could be slightly bitter but there is still a nice ginger peach flavor to compliment the lemonade. All in all, it’s pretty tasty.

Guess I’m feeling minty because this is the tea I decided to have as a latte. Minty and delicious, as always.

Despite being a hot cup of tea, this was very cool and refreshing. It’s better hot than what it cools but it’s a pretty solid tea, especially given it only cost $1.

drank Rhubarb Cream Soda by DAVIDsTEA

Made this as a tea pop last night and it’s been in the fridge since and it’s the first tea I’ve had all day. It’s still carbonated but sometimes the tea itself can get very artificial and waxy and that’s the overwhelming flavor today. Not loving it right now! Sometimes it’s great and others it’s not.

So a lot of my matcha is in the freezer but for some reason I keep the small sample tins of matcha in my tea drawers. That means when I’m pulling a matcha to add to my smoothies, I forget about the Bird and Blend ones in the other room. However, today I remembered and when deciding what would go with a strawberry and banana smoothie, cocoa matcha seemed like a good choice.

A lot of the time I think I don’t taste the matcha but then I realize the aftertaste is distinctly chocolate. So it’s adding a nice layer to the smoothie where the strawberry banana flavor is tied off with an chocolate milk quality at the end of the sip. Works for me :)

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
