Had this as a latte with coconut whipped cream. It was nice but given my dislike of marzipan quality in teas, it was not my favorite.

I was having cheese on fig and olive crackers so I decided to pull out this tea. Alas, I’m mostly getting fruity cinnamon and not much else.

ashmanra

Now I want cheese with fig preserves..,fortunately I have both on hand right now,

Today’s smoothie went much better than yesterday’s and this made for a nice honey sweetness in it.

drank Raspberry Matcha by DAVIDsTEA

My sister and brother-in-law made a smoothie so they asked if I wanted some. I said yes, though I am used to my smoothies and not theirs. Thankfully they left me the last bit in the blender so I could add some matcha to their mix of mango, banana, icelandic yogurt and milk. The smoothie was thicker than I usually make them and had a different balance of fruits to other ingredients.

Despite adding a shitton of matcha, I am not getting much raspberry. I am getting a chalkiness though and I don’t know if I can blame the matcha for that or the combination of fruit and yogurt. Who knows. It’s fine, just not what I’m used to.

This is another tea from Sil’s latest drop off. Thank you!

I pulled it out, honestly because I thought it was thematic to go with the tea photo I thought would be cute. Now that I am not moving between 3 houses and other places, it is hard to diversify my #365daysoftea photos on instagram so I try to change them up when I can. Yesterday was a fun day at home as my sister and I set up a gender reveal surprise for her husband. We were limited in what we could do to what we had around the house so we ended up with a chalk drawing in the backyard and blue file folder confetti. We filmed the surprise and that allowed them to make a cute virtual reveal video in lieu of the gender reveal party we were hoping to have prior to the virus. So now that they announced publicly, I thought it would be cute to incorporate yesterday’s fun into today’s picture and this tea just seemed like the right choice. As for the tea itself, it’s not my favorite. It’s a little bit of a spice flavor, though not so much a spicy kick. There is also a cacao flavor that is quite strong and is coming into conflict with the fruitier notes in the cup. It’s fine but 52 Teas has many more offerings I’d reach for before this. As such, I am ok with just the one cup.

I think I actually prefer this hot as opposed to cold brewed/iced (however I had it last time). This hot cup is like strawberries and cream if Pom juice made that flavor. It’s quite juicy and nice without being overly sweet.

Tea with breakfast today, courtesy of Sil. Thank you!

This is nice and bready but also the slightest bit Smokey which was unexpected. It also has a cocoa quality to it. It’s nice but with a name like it has, I expected more.

Sil

i’m so confused that this isn’t in my cupboard and i haven’t rated it…

VariaTEA

Perhaps it did not come from you. I wonder if it’s maybe directly from Angel then?!

This made the perfect latte tonight. Awesomely balanced between all three names flavours while being crazy creamy and just super delicious.

My first sip of this was an amazingly creamy malted vanilla. As I continue to drink, I am getting caramel as well. So basically it’s a big mug of caramel vanilla. It’s really nice today because it’s also a touch bready. This cup seems to be an anomaly but I’m enjoying it very much. Upped the rating slightly from 82.

ETA: As this cools, it’s milk chocolate.

Latte Sipdown (293)

This tea was a whole lot of cherry and chocolate. I actually really like this one and the sample was perfect for one latte. If I were placing a NecessiTeas order again, I think this would be added to the cart.

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
