My anxiety has been really bad lately. And with my bad anxiety, my blood pressure has been pretty bad. So, I am currently in the process of monitoring my blood pressure to let my doctor know what’s up. However, the high readings are freaking me out even more and so my anxieties are going a bit insane. That means my brain just won’t shut off.

However, living in Canada, there is something available to me to help with this situation temporarily…weed. Yay! My brother-in-law went to a dispensary to pick some stuff up for me to try. While there, they recommended a dissolvable powder that is a mix of both CBD and THC. So he picked that up and told me I could just put it in my tea. That’s where we are at.

I made this and was shocked by how odorless the powder is. Then I took a tiny sip and I could taste the weed. However, when I am actually drinking this, it smells like the tea and tastes like the tea and then there is just a weed flavor in the aftertaste. It is quite odd. So I get ginger and I get berries and then I get weed and all of that is pretty sweet thanks to the crisp element.

I struggle with anxiety too and it is no joke. I hope this can help!

Update: it definitely had a calming effect but I was also still able to get through a lecture. I then slept well, which was nice. Alas I woke up and I was hit with all my anxiety and stress again. The stuff helped but I feel like I shouldn’t be waking up and drinking it so useful tool but not the solution. Though, when anxieties get really bad, I do recommend this.

There is a tea shop (cafe style) in Tucson, Arizona that has the option of a CBD/THC add in for your drink! Only time I’ve ever seen that!

Had this as a tea lemonade and it surprised me how good it was. Sweet but spicy thanks to the turmeric and ginger.

drank Mermaid Tea by Østerlandsk Thehus

The second November challenge in Instagram had a prompt today that was “your birthstone”. As a March baby, my birthstone is aquamarine. Honestly, I just think of a mermaid movie that came out when I was a kid called Aquamarine. So that led me to this tea.

It’s smooth and has a nice touch of tart gooseberry. However, it’s not particularly exciting which is sad since I have a fair bit of this that I need to work through. At least this prompt had me pull it out.

I wouldn’t have chosen this matcha but it came in a pack with a bunch of other matchas I wanted to try. I don’t love turmeric because I find it always disappoints my expectations. I expect spice and usually get earth. And, I have since learned I don’t really like Bird and Blend’s rooibos matchas. So I went into this not expecting much.

I made this in frothed milk and then drizzled it with honey. It’s my knockoff Golden Milk I suppose. Honestly, it’s not half bad this way. It’s got the heat and spice from the turmeric and pepper and other spices and no earthiness. It’s sweet from the honey. And the milk covers up the rooibos flavour.

Cold Brew Sipdown (256)

This cold brew is weird because the green tea base is muted but so is the the watermelon flavor. Somehow it’s more cucumber flavoured with an underlying honeydew component. It’s nice but not what I hoped it would be if I’m being honest.

drank Pumpkin Chai by DAVIDsTEA

Instagram is going crazy with their monthly challenges. There are two separate ones for the month of November. They are helpful for getting content for the Sororitea Sisters instagram page though so I try to participate. One of the prompts was to drink a Saintly tea, which didn’t really mean anything to me. The other was to drink a favourite nostalgic tea. That’s the prompt I decided to follow and pulled this tea out.

I ended up steeping this in a cool new travel mug I was sent to review for the Sororitea Sisters. Since it was on-the-go steeping, I didn’t make this as a latte, which is how I have been making it for the past few times I had it. I forgot how nice this tea can be plain. I’m getting a lot of caramel flavor today. Caramel and black tea and cinnamon. It is also very comforting and delightful. And it went perfectly with the Halloween light show and the snow storm I was in while drinking it.

Check out pics/videos of that here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CHEzb3MAf8N/ and here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CHE1ZF1gqg2/ (there is some overlap)

This tea is nostalgic because I started drinking tea around the time the Fall teas were released by DAVIDsTEA. So, when I ventured into DAVIDs for the very first time, this was one of the many teas I walked out with that first day. Even back in 2013 the Pumpkin Chai release was a big deal and so it was a lot of fun to get to try the shiny new Fall teas and this beloved blend. It’s a tea that I have enjoyed since the start of my tea journey and while its not the best blend in the world, I still find myself buying it yearly and getting excited when I see its being released again. Something about it just says Fall is here and with it comes all the awesome Fall things to be excited about!

I really like the Menna mug. Only down sides are the basket takes up so much room and you end up with leaves soaking in hot water between steepings if you do multiple.

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
