Brewed this up to go with my late night snack! I was in the mood for a really salty treat, like pretzels or tortilla chips. All I have is popcorn though, so kettle corn it is! I didn’t think my usual fruity tea would go along well, so I reached for this one out of my sampler. It’s still like I remember it, malty with that bit of almond that isn’t too strong. Added just a bit of sugar and it’s a perfect pairing!

This is the tea Jon got today while we were at teavana, I had the new marshmallow one. He loves his tea sweetened and iced, so I didn’t get the chance to try it plain. It was a very refreshing tea. He would’ve liked it a bit sweeter, I think I would’ve like it a bit less sweetened. I didn’t really get too familiar with it, however Jon liked it enough to get 2oz so I’ll be able to do that later.

I don’t exactly know what to think of this one. We went there to check out a couple of teas, so Jon tried one of the other new ones, and I got this one. I normally try all my new teas hot and plain. I did ask how the associate had tried this one, she said she prefers it in blends to lend a creamy sweetness. One of her suggestions was brewing this with a cinnamony tea (I forget which one she said) since that tasted like a cinnamon roll in her opinion.

I’ve only had about half of my cup, but I plan on popping the rest in the fridge. It might be the way the papaya is playing into this that’s not really doing it for me. Perhaps if it were strawberry instead… Oh well

ETA: The cold version isn’t winning me over either :/

momo

I just got this because I figured I’d put it w/the Strawberry Blush or whatever they’re calling that one now. The associate had put Youthberry with it and was singing its praises.

We finished off the first steeping, mostly mixed with milk. It was pretty darn good that way! Right now I’ve got the whole pitcher (6cups worth) sitting here with me and I plan on drinking most of it throughout the evening lol. After the “green bean tea” fiasco I just want something cold and sweet and this certainly fits the bill.

I only have the one sachet of this tea. I bought the tin for a friend who loves Alice in wonderland. It was for a gift for her baby shower (I also got her a fancy hardcover copy of Alice & Through the Looking Glass.) She told me it tasted “lightly fruity, with a sweetness like angel food cake.” Since she loved it so much, she gave me a sachet to try.

I did NOT like this one at all! I don’t know what I did wrong but it smells like green beans. It even tasted like green beans. blagh. I think I’ve made it through five sips? The mug is staring at me, taunting. “Maybe I’ll taste delicious now Kara!!!” So I sip again and realize it lied. NOPE. Still green beans. weird is all I can say.

I used one sachet for 8oz

ETA: I love that green beans comes up underneath the flavor suggestions ;D

I wonder what a tea actually made with green beans would taste like…

Hello.Kiki

I shudder at the thought after this experience, lol

Kaylee

This sounds like a challenge for Butiki.

Hello.Kiki

Who knows, people who really like a savory, vegetal tea might really go for that kind of thing. It would be interesting at the very least.

Backlog from yesterday, as I had no time to be logging my tea in between all the wedding prep activities. Again, as reliable as ever, but I’m also starting to really notice that artificial cinnamon. Starting to wonder why they felt it was really even necessary.

Why do I like this so much?! It really does hit the spot for a sweet treat. For whatever reason I have been really craving this tea. I keep bringing it with me places, but then I always go “well it’s not really tea…” and reach for something else, when what I really want is this one. Am I crazy or what? wait… don’t answer that ;p

I’m interested to see how my relationship with this one goes. Will my interest fade out? Will it grow? Will I like this enough to restock? Who knows!

This is really great blended with things… especially matcha. =D

Hello.Kiki

I’ve never tried matcha before! I actually have a sample on it’s way though! yay!

Katie

Yeah, try making a matcha & cococaramel sea salt matcha latte… so good. >.< Especially iced.

Hello.Kiki

Sounds delicious! I’ll have to try that out!

I was originally going to go for Harney & Sons Paris until I realized that I don’t have anymore!! D’: So I went for this TARDIS blend instead, which is perfect because it’s one of my favorites. Now since it is 2am here, it is officially Feb 22nd, which means I’m getting married today!!! Still waiting for the Doctor to take fiance and I both on adventures and crash the wedding later. There’s still time, right? Wibbly-wobbly….

I ordered a few of the SBT to try since the fiance (soon to be husband!!! OMG I’M GETTING MARRIED IN ONE DAY!!) and I both really like iced tea. There was a bit of an ordeal getting these. Our mail carrier didn’t deliver these because “no one was home” in order to receive the package. um, wait, we were home all day! We didn’t get the slip stating that the package wasn’t delivered though. I only found out because I checked the tracking knowing that it was supposed to arrive. ugh.

On to the tea though! I was really nervous to brew this up due to some of the “brewing mishap” reviews I’ve read regarding this tea series. I measured out the two quarts into my pitcher, and then transferred about 2 1/2 cups of that to a pot on the stove. Covering the pot I brought the water just to a boil, shut off the burner, added the bag of tea, and started my timer. Two minutes and 50 seconds later I fished out the bag, and poured the tea from the pot to my pitcher. Set in the fridge and wait until cold!

The dry tea had hints of a creaminess to it, but I wasn’t really getting anything else. Brewed up there is definitely a creamy vanilla scent going on. Taste-wise it’s an enjoyable base, smooth. I am just not getting coconut cream pie. I really really really wanted coconut cream pie. Added some home-made simple syrup to make it a sweet iced tea. Again really lovely, just not what I was expecting/hoping for.

ETA: Totally delish sweetened and with half and half! Still not getting a lot of coconut though. bummer!

Bio

About Me: newlywed! I studied biomedical sciences and will start up medical school here soon. I love to read, paint, sketch, bake, crochet, knit, and lounge around with my Samoyed (Kenai) and two cats (Callie and Maya.) Fandom nerd and Disney girl.

About me and tea: I think I will always and forever consider myself a tea newbie.

I love learning new things about tea, and continue to branch out and try new tea as much as I can. For the most part my favorites seem to be dessert teas. Sweet tooth anyone? lol. I’d love to hear about other people’s favorites, and where you go for tea! My local choices are pretty limited, i.e. Teavana, so bring on the online shopping ;)

Rating System: I’ll try to stick to it ;P

95-100: Must have! Permanently part of my stash, and will re-stock before I’m out.
85-95: Love it! Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again
75-85: Like it! I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, I might get this again if the craving hits me
55-75: I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, but probably won’t get this again
35-55: Hmm, Not bad, not great. I guess I’ll finish this cup… might try another depending
1-35: eee… I’ll be dumping this cup.
