173 Tasting Notes
I love the smell of this tea right out of the tin. I love the touch of sweetness, and the almond scent. Brewed, it’s a different story entirely. Just from the scent, all I can think of is yams/squash. Weird, right? I did not like this by itself, so I added a half tsp of turbinado sugar and could actually enjoy it. Makes me sad because the dry tea is so deliciously fragrant. I’m thinking maybe I brewed this one wrong? I will definitely try it again to see.
EDIT: As I sat and finished my cup, I liked this tea more and more. Still, next time I’ll play with the brewing time.
Preparation
Now that I think about it, this tea reminds me of one of my favorite honey/lemon cough drops :p It’s soothing, and I had this cup just before bed. I suppose it does have a bit of an artificial taste to it, but hey, it’s a cheap and easy feel-better tea :)
Preparation
I bought a small batch of this tea yesterday and tried it out last night. When you open the bag/tin the berry is the overwhelming scent of the tea, though it is very pleasant, thus why I bought some :p
I made my first cup as directed per the little instructions on the bag. Lovely purple/pink color. Once brewed I could smell the mint much more, which I very much enjoyed. First sip was meh, the next few were okay, but not something I would run home to make. I added a half tsp of turbinado sugar and then it was delicious! I tasted the berry much more and still got the mint finish.
I did try it iced, sort of, I really didn’t have enough ice to cool it down properly, so I won’t say anything about it just yet.
