From Teavana

Fragrant as a Parisian patisserie on a Sunday morning, this sweet, baby pink infusion is an herbal cup ideal for cloud gazing the day away. Fluffy mini marshmallows float on a dreamy cloud of apple, raisin, sweet papaya, and toasted coconut swirls. True confection perfection.

Thanks for a sample of this, Ost! Though I’m not usually a fan of Teavana, the name was too intriguing. I hadn’t actually had any macarons until last week, my grandma had some while traveling, so they might have been a bit stale but I was thrilled to finally try them anyway. I also just had to look up macarons and macaroons because I was confusing them. I got to try macaroons a couple years ago — my cousin made them. I really should make more cookies. I love cookies. Cookies go with tea.
Anyway, I used three teaspoons for one giant mug. I didn’t want to leave one teaspoon hanging and also thought 1 1/2 teaspoons wouldn’t be enough. It looked like a really good smattering of all the ingredients listed. Except for one tiny marshmallow. The flavor is actually pretty accurate to the name. It’s sweet with hints of marshmallow and fruit. A marshmallow macaron! There is a hint of something that might remind me of playdough but nothing too bad. Though there is coconut here and this is an older blend, I wasn’t tasting the oldness. I do like this blend and that is surprising with a Teavana blend, especially when the Steepster rating is already so low.
Steep #1 // 3 teaspoons // 10 minutes after boiling // 5 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 15 minute steep

Now I want cookies… not macarons or macaroons, but even plain old chocolate chip cookies would do. Mmmm.

tea-sipper

All the cookies. All the time.

Mastress Alita

Now I’m reminded of the fact I’m down to my last box of Girl Scout Cookies… sigh.

tea-sipper

oh no! Did you know that Keebler has cookie that is EXACTLY like the Samoas? I know it isn’t the same as supporting Girl Scouts but… they’re there all year round. :D

Mastress Alita

I probably didn’t need to know that, I just finished my last box of Samoas, hahaha! I only have my Trefoils left. I do like shortbread with black tea.

AJRimmer

Had some Keebler samoas yesterday. So good.

tea-sipper

Oh and I think the official name of the Keebler’s is ‘Coconut Dreams’,Mastress Alita.

I bought this for my birthday last year and I’ve tried it a few times. I’m quite disappointed with this blend because it doesn’t have much flavor. I was expecting so much more, especially since it’s got hibiscus thrown in the mix. I might feel differently about it if I sampled it hot, but hot hibiscus teas are so not my jam. I’ll give it one more try and steep longer than the suggested time to see if I can eek any additional flavor out of the blend. If I can’t, I’ll gift it to someone or trash it.

Not going to lie, I bought this tea because I absolutely ADORE macarons, but this tea was a big disappointment for me. One, it’s way too sweet, and also it doesn’t have any taste of that “almond-meringue” taste that macarons always have in them. There are marshmallows in this tea which is a cute touch for its namesake, but I honestly believe this tea would have done better without them. I wouldn’t repurchase. I have a canister of the tea filled about a fourth of the way if anyone would like to trade. I probably won’t drink this tea again.

Backlogging from last night because I was too tired and lazy to dig the laptop back out.

Husband describes this as tasting exactly like Mallow-creme Pumpkin tea. I can kind of see it. It’s very strong in the honeyed sugar notes. I seem to be on the side of other reviewers in thinking it’s more like angel cake of sorts. It needs a long steeping time 10+ minutes in order to taste like anything other than melted marshmallow water, though.

I have noticed it’s not really a consistant cup. Every once in a while I’ll wind up with too much hibiscus in the dry leaf and it can overwhelm the more subtle desserty flavors. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t use beetroot for the coloring instead.

Super sweet, super desserty. I like it well enough, but will probably only keep on hand for the boy.

Definitely smells like buttered rum Life Savers! The taste is very sweet, but still has the underlying hit of tartness from the apples. There is no actual butterscotch type flavor until the finish, with just a hint of it lingering in the mouth. It’s a super-strong fragrance dry (my 6-year-old son walked in the kitchen and wanted to know what smelled so good!), and it was honestly cloying. But the taste is much cleaner than the fragrance indicates. I’m not sure if I’ll reorder, but it is pretty good.

The name of this tea alone was enough to make me buy a little bit. The best way to describe it is okay. I like this tea, but I wouldn’t repurchase it.

Warm, it is sweet and good. I get the vanilla and hibiscus flavours coming through. However, as soon as it starts to cool down, there is a very artificial taste to it. I haven’t tried it as an iced tea, but I would have very low expectations. I’m not sure if it is the marshmallow or another ingredient, but that artificial aftertaste is what ruins this tea for me.

I don’t have a Teavana near me, therefore no way to try this without purchasing it. I’m so happy to have received a sample of this from the lovely Ost.

Anything with the word marshmallow and tea involved is definitely worth a try in my books, being the sugarholic and tea-aholic I am, I had to try this! I had a hot cup of this last night and a hot cup this afternoon. I love this! I loved how the tea turned pink, and it wasn’t too sweet. This is a delicious nighttime dessert tea. I’m thinking this is a must order tea in the new year :)

I had a cup of this iced at a local Teavana store, and it was just okay. I’d imagine it tastes better when warm, because the butter rum-esque flavor with an odd tang doesn’t translate well to iced tea. I’ll try it again as a hot tea, but I wasn’t impressed.

I’ve only had this hot…which I liked. But oy…I don’t think it would be good iced at all. What was Teavana even thinking xD

I just realized that I never reviewed this one. :O Have a whole 4oz tin of it even and I never took the time to review it. xD Wow.
A lot of people don’t like this one it seems. Apparently it’s the hibiscus and the tartness. Personally, I don’t mind hibiscus at all. Nor do I mind if something is a bit tart.
This is one of the Teavana teas that I plan to keep on stock always. Definitely one of my favorite Teavana teas.

Also, on a side note I couldn’t go into work today because yesterday I overworked myself my two and a half hours. Which doesn’t sound like a lot. But as time goes on I’m having less and less endurance because my stupid body sucks xD
And last night I kept waking up in tons of pain too, so…just all of today so far has been horrible and I’m pretty disappointed in myself because of it. But this was a nice and relaxing tea to try again today. And still really like it. So hopefully I will stop being so disappointed soon, and just try to relax. But yeah, good tea overall :P

TeaBrat

sorry… feel better xo

Ost

Thanks (: I am beginning to finally!
