326 Tasting Notes
Gave this a go as a latte and it’s just as good as it is black. Same flavours (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg) with the sweet marzipan shining through. Happy I picked up 100g of this.
Flavors: Marzipan, Spices
Preparation
I’ve had this one hot before and it was watery and terrible and a swore I’d never try it hot again (though it remains one of my favourite iced teas).
BUT I was in DAVID’s today and was picking up some Kashmiri Chai and they were having a promotion where that meant I could get a $1 tea of the day. Guess what the tea of the day was (they also had Peanut Butter Cup, but it’s not my favourite and I was looking for something with caffeine). Anyway, I tried a sample of it first, and it was actually really tasty, and not watery at all. In fact, it may even have more flavour than having it iced (the kiwi definitely stands out more). Clearly I need to play with my brew times on this one.
Flavors: Citrus, Fruity
So this is a review for the chocolate bar.
I was hesitant to buy this one above the others because milk chocolate isn’t my favourite, but Red Velvet Cake is one of my favourite teas so I decided to give it a go. Glad I did! Even for milk chocolate, the chocolate is really nice, and the tea gives it a little extra something. Would like to try more of their chocolate bars, and I would recommend this one.
I had the chocolate bar as well. I liked it, but I couldn’t taste any specific red velvet cake flavour. Still good, though!
Going nice and simple tonight. Wasn’t planning on going to DAVID’s again today, but there were accidents on both bridges today and as a result I couldn’t make it too Dartmouth for my dance class (boo) so we got tea instead.
This is a nice, sweet, grassy jasmine. Sort of like a mix of Bai Hao Yin Zhen and Dragon Pearls. I wouldn’t need it on hand all the time, but I might pick if up when I get through my current jasmine stash.
Flavors: Jasmine, Sweet, Warm Grass
Yes. Yes to everything about this tea. THIS is how I want my chai. My expectations were actually pretty low, because the girl at the store said it mostly tasted like cardamom, but it is so much more than just cardamom!
Sure, it does start pretty heavy on the cardamom with some ginger mixed in. But then it transforms into something sweet, that reminds me of marzipan. Which is weird, because there’s no reason for it. Then there’s some cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg thrown in there. My god mother used to make something called speculaas, which was a tart spiced with cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg with a marzipan fill—this tea is that in a cup with some ginger and cardamom thrown in for good measure and it really makes me want to bake some. I also love how light it is; the green base is just so refreshing. I will absolutely pick up some of this! It’s probably the best chai I’ve ever had.
Flavors: Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Ginger, Marzipan, Nutmeg
I’ve been avoiding this one for two reasons. 1) I already have a bunch of Forever Nuts and I was worried they’d be similar and 2) I hate anise. However I ended up buying 25g anyway and it really is pretty tasty. Predominantly cinnamon and cooked apple with lighter notes of other spices and brown sugar. Very nice fall tea

Oh wow, this is so good! I was looking for a ginger tea at the end of August and picked up some Ginger Pear, but this is much more like what I’m looking for! Absolutely tastes and smells like ginger beer. I was nervous about the raisins, but fear not! There’s maybe the slightest hint of them in the aftertaste and it’s not off-putting. Only complaint is the lack of caffeine and only because I decided to have this for my morning cup but then my new kitten (got her yesterday, she’s so cute!!!) decided to wake me up at way-to-early am. Ah well.
Flavors: Ginger, Raisins

So after my last disaster with this one I decided to give it a proper go as a latte. So good! Pumpkin pie in a cup (though somehow better because I don’t actually like pumpkin pie). There’s the crust, there’s the filling, and there’s a hint of cream (though I find lattes mask most tea notes found in the actual tea as a general rule). If I was hosting Thanksgiving dinner, this would be a must have for after dinner! I do think I like this better than pumpkin chai (which I’ve been thoroughly enjoying). Might have to pick some of this up (which I was actually planning on doing today but I ended up with cranberry orange muffin, ginger beer, and spiced apple instead; willpower is not a thing)
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Creamy, Nutmeg, Pastries, Pumpkin
I’ll start by saying that, due to a series of unfortunate events, this ended up steeping for about an hour (can you hear me cringing from there?). It’s basically syrup, but at least it’s herbal so it didn’t get bitter.
That being said, I do rather enjoy this one. I’m getting apple more than pumpkin, but definitely cooked apple. This is complemented by heavy cinnamon and cream notes with a hint of caramel/maple. It’s got a real apple pie feel to it. The aftertaste is a little more on the pumpkin pie note. I suspect if I hadn’t let it sit so long that’s how it should taste. Either way I enjoyed this one enough to give it another chance (for now I’ll leave it unrated). Have also heard great things about this one as a latte, so maybe I’ll pick up a bag.
