1598 Tasting Notes
Thank you for the free sample!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I heard they were giving away free rooibos samples, but this is amazing. It’s so fruity and creamy – I could tell immediately what flavour it was without reading the description.
I only used half of the sample to make this cup – I’ll have to ice the other half as I suspect it would be even better chilled!
Would I stock this? Yes
Preparation
I forgot I had this in my second timolino! Guess I’lll sip it before I make my sleepytime teac.
This was a birthday gift – my Aunt let me choose 3 teas from Steeped Tea, and so I had fun with that. I love lime, so this was an obvious choice.
The instructions say to steep this at 2-3 minutes in BOILING water. I think that qualifies as green tea abuse, doesn’t it? I ignored it and steeped it in cooler water, but it worries me that “professional” tea experts go to people’s houses and convince them that boiled green tea is correct. #sigh. It’s not up to me to solve all the problems. :P
Anyway, this is light and refreshing, but obviously artificial. It actually makes me think of a slightly creamy lime kool-aid. I think Lime Chiffon would be my preferred lime, but I actually don’t mind this too much, so long as I know I’m getting a fake lime taste.
I bet it would be quite good iced!
I really, really need to unwind, and will probably make Mother’s Little Helper or something after this to help me out further. Stubborn, sleepy angry baby – that’s all I’ll say about that.
Also, it doesn’t help my frustration that Steepster wouldn’t find this tea when I knew it existed and then I realised I was searching for “Curiousity”. Oh, silly Canadian! :D
Now I’m gonna go binge on something sweet and feel guilty about it tomorrow. #plans
OH! And I just got an email from Teavivre saying that my package was delivered to my local post office today after they attempted the delivery, and that I should go and get it! YAY! Dragon Pearls! Balin Gong Fu! That’ll be worth the 30 minute walk it’ll take for me to get down there.
Also I REALLY love Teavivre’s customer service.
This is pretty good! Fruity notes and a creamy finish. It still can’t top Della Terra’s Lime Chiffon in my head as far as creamy rooibos teas go, but that’s not this tea’s fault. The hibiscus behaves nicely and only adds the slightest bit of tartness to make the berries pop.
Also, memory is faulty. :P
I’d recommend this to others.
Preparation
So I’m getting dangerously close to tea blahs because I’m thinking about how I have so much in my cupboard and a lot of it is just stuff I bought on impulse, or bought too much of because I didn’t know I could get less, and it’s draggin me down.
It’s dragging me down, man.
So instead of worrying about sipdowns, or trying teas I haven’t had before to see if I want to throw them in my freebie pile, I’m drinking this. And enjoying it. That’s a good fix. And I’ve got some iced Paris in the fridge. And when I do my tea meet-up in a few weeks I’ll hopefully be able to get rid of some of the stuff I’m not so into but others might like! :O
YAY
I bought this from Momo for a few dollars – I thought I’d give it a shot at that price, and just opened the bag today.
It’s not bad. It’s completely superfluous with 7 oz of Read My Lips if I’m craving black minty teas, but it’s not bad! It’s bright and slightly cream with the marshamllow. I get a tad bit of chocolate in there too. It shouldn’t be too hard to drink 2 oz of this, but I’m going to have to drink this and RML every day to make a dent! :O
Preparation
This is so good! I will need to buy tons of this in the fall. I think I only had a .5 oz bag, and that seems to make 4-5 cups with the way I make tea, so I’ll definitely need to buy more.
And re-steep!
The spices are pretty perfect though. NGL. It has notes that reminds me of the Caramel Assam, but with more earthy pumpkiny notes.
Mah-velous.
I only had a sip to make sure it was good for my family before they came to visit but WOW. This is good iced. Thank you everyone for letting me know to try it. I only had a dash of agave syrup too. :)
It’s marvelous. I’m going to run through so much H&S tea now.
Preparation
I don’t even know what Lychee tastes like, although I should buy one some day and try it! This was one of the samples I scooped for $1 and I’m glad to have tried it. It’s a happy jumble of fruit, and I can definitely recognize the peach and the apricot.
If I didn’t have enough fruity teas at the moment I would definitely consider picking up a bit more of this one. It’s quiet enjoyable, and I suspect it would be tasty iced.
Preparation
Ok so I’m up at 115 teas which is good because my number is decreasing, but the average number of oz per tea is going up. :( #whoops Essentially I have more tea then I did before. That 7 oz tin of Read My Lips was a definite mistake, but maybe after I move I’ll put it up on the swap board.
Anyway I’m drinking this because I might as well clean up my little samples. I’m not too crazy about it to be honest. It seems a bit bitter – maybe I steeped it too long? Oh well – on to the next sample.
we can maybe do a joint order of this one… i really liked it too
