1598 Tasting Notes
I believe this is my favourite of the Winter teas, but as others have mentioned, there are a few caveats:
-it has stevia in it (because I can’t be trusted to add my own sweetener? >:()
-it has a really oily sheen to the surface
-it leaves odd green globs on the mug
Why do I like it?
It really is quite similar to white chocolate bark. The peppermint is strong and refreshing, the chocolate is mild and creamy, and the whole thing just makes me feel cozy and relaxed. 30g of this probably won’t be enough to get me through the winter. Oh and the peppercorn gives it a little bit of zip at the end of each sip.
If I can ignore the negatives listed up top, I could see this becoming as treasured as Cocomint Cream was last year!
ETA: OMG. I thought Steepster ate my note and I was grumping it up. :P Glad to see it’s here. I just saved my note and got the kettle page.

And that’s the end of this one! (91)
It’s funny that I did my pumpkin pie tea-off, and then finished off the pumpkin teas that were my least favourite, while completely ignoring the Della Terra one that I really did enjoy. :P
I guess now that this and DAVIDsTEA’s pumpkin chai are out of the way, I can focus on the better one?

Sipdown! (93)
I’m going to miss this, but I have so many flavours left that I don’t feel too bad about it.
I WILL reorder this eventually. In a year?
I am really intrigued by all these different flavored matchas. I keep wondering if they actually do taste like their flavors or if they taste more like matcha than anything else.
After reading Roswell Strange’s review of this (http://steepster.com/roswellstrange/posts/198587) I was inspired to try it for myself!
I was careful not to overleaf, and steeped it for the recommend 4 minutes. The result was decent. It did smell quite good, but there wad an odd burnt note too. I get a bit of toffee in the beginning of the sip, but it sours out near the end. Perhaps I’ll try a tsp of sugar!
And I have 20g left of this to experiment with!
And I’m one cup away from a sipdown of this. :( Too bad as this is a green that I can get behind!
I’m rewatching Doctor Who now that it’s on netflix, but OMG, those early episodes are really pretty awful. And I love David Tennant and his Doctor, but going back just reminds me how flawed some of the characters are. :( Maybe I’ll just skip an episode or two. :P
This is a good though because TEA plays an important role. Even if it is an awful Christmas episode. (Those are generally cringeworthy, aren’t they? Aside from the 2 newest ones!)
My roommate got a cup of this to go last weekend and all I can remember when walking on the street is the smell of fruit loops.
And another sipdown today! (94)
I think I’ll miss this. It reminds me of that Coco-Lemon Thai from Davids, but I think I preferred this version. I wish I had some for side-by-side comparison but it’s not that big a deal. This is a nice tea, but not for every day – I need to crave it.
Yes…. this is my favorite of the Winter Collection (which, isn’t saying much?) The flavour combination makes me think of Christmas festivities. The only downside is the weight. It’s basically 10g per cup so it’s a little expensive..
This one reminded me of hot apple cider with cloves and some extra fruit. I preferred it to the cake-ish blends too (although DT note says it’s trying to be a cake as well?). :)
I’m interested to try this one in comparison to Teavana’s Fig Rose… The latter isn’t spiced like this one, but they seem kind of similar otherwise.
Urghhh… I just got home from Central Canada Comic Con with extra money from what I’d budgeted. I was looking to spend that on the teas I was interested in from the new DAVIDsTEAs released, but it seems like the general consensus in not favourable for the three I was interested in (this being one of them, and then White Chocolate Frost, and the Gingerbread Rooibos).
I’d get a little bit of those three – it seems like they were the better ones. I liked the gingerbread, and this was good although it doesn’t give me as many cups as I’d like. White Chocolate Frost was good but it’s a bit oily with weird green drops left on the mug? But it tastes good. So, why not try them? Just don’t buy too much, just in case!
haha every time I try posting from my ipad I get that kettle page so I have given up and now only ever use my computer to post.
Also, I got this as a latte from David’s tea and it was amazing. It tasted similar to a white hot chocolate but with just the right amount of mint to make it fresh and amazing.
I think I’ll try some of this by mixing a good peppermint tea with shaved white chocolate and a few peppercorns. ;)
Mmmm. Let me know how that works out.
Considering all I have at home that’s “minty” is tulsi, it could be really bad. :D
