467 Tasting Notes
I was excited to try this flavored oolong because in the past I’ve generally liked oolongs. Almond is one of my favorites. The aroma was terrific when I opened the bag. I followed the directions on the sample 212/3-5 min. Leaves have a good strong aroma after steeping. Tea a little bland after steeping. I was expecting a bit more flavor since the initial aroma was terrific. I added a little monk’s fruit sweetener but it didn’t bring it up to the level I had anticipated. I did a resteep and no improvement just weaker.
Preparation
I took this one with me when I went out to eat. It’s always sort of risky since you never know how water temp or time… but it worked out well. I wanted an herbal because it was nighttime. This was very pleasant cup. It was smooth and sweet even without sweetener. The mandarin was very upfront and aromatic. I enjoyed it so much I asked for another cup of water and steeped another cup. Very nice!
Preparation
This is the first time I’ve had matcha since I was always a little afraid to try something that looked so weird and had such non-tea type flavors. But I’ve read so many reviews that made it sound good so I look the plunge into the world of matcha. I got the sample from Red Leaf Tea. OMG this stuff is good! Mixed it with vanilla soy milk and a couple ice
cubes in blender. Makes a lovely bright green liquor. Smells so much like cheesecake that I can’t believe it. I’m going to have to be careful of this stuff because I could easily drink way too much of this. The vanilla soy milk is low fat but it still has calories. I am really trying to not start any bad habits with foods. It’s so easy to do! (I lost another pound this week!) I think I saw some descriptions where it was just mixed with water. I’ll have to cheek those out.
Well, remember what I said about easily getting addicted to this… well, it’s about ten minutes later and I’m having another glass. This time I made it with half soy milk and half water and less ice cubes. Still very good! OK, now I really can’t have more or the caffeine will take over and I’ll have the whole house cleaned, basement organized, laundry done and dinner cooked! Heavens, we wouldn’t want that to happen! My husband will think I should that everyday! ;-D
Preparation
I haven’t tried matcha yet either.. tempted to order their sample this month though. Green tea isn’t my favorite so I’m a little nervous it will be too green and not enough flavor.. Looks like I will have to take the leap.
I get you on the doing too much in one day thing! It could come back to haunt you :)
Exactly! To me the Cheesecake matcha has no real green tea taste. Really only cheesecake come through.
You got me looking at their website, this one the caramel one are on sale today only. Soo soo tempting
I’m waiting for my sample to show up still. I keep reading people’s tasting notes for this one because it just sounds so good. Hopefully it shows up soon. Like maybe today.
Isn’t it terrible how much our life has become focused on the mail! Will it come to day? Will it come tomorrow? Oh no, no mail on Sunday!!! :D
Very true. I’ve got a few tea orders I’m waiting on, and a few tea ware orders I’m waiting on. I need something new to drink.
Not much to say that is different from other’s notes.I tend to use full, rounded teaspoons on Teavana teas, and this is no exception. I too find there is a little too much cinnamon. I tend to like a little more cardamom. I re-steeped it with a little vanilla/black combination (don’t remember what it’s called) which toned down the cinnamon. Now, I am enjoying it more. So I took the rest of the chai container and added some of the vanilla/black and mixed it up. Hopefully I put in a good amount and I’ll have it all set for next time. I don’t know how to rate it since I added my own mix to it, so I won’t rate it. I guess I’d give it a 50 at first and an 80 with the vanilla.

I’ve been using this about once a week for a while. Tomorrow is my weigh-in at Weight Watchers, so I’m pretending this will make a difference. ;-) I like the flavor. The rooibos is understated. Slightly sweetened with vanilla stevia brings out a nice nutty flavor. I don’t know if there is much cleansing since I am adding a sugar substitute. Doesn’t taste like the “detox” teas I’ve had before. Nice calm cup of tea! I put his at 4 tsp since they don’t have tea bags as an option on amount. I used 4 teabags in 4 cups of water.
Flavors: Nuts, Vanilla
Preparation
I was a little worried that the tea would live up to it’s name a little too much and have an uncomfortable lip burn like cinnamon can do sometimes. I was please that it is a red hots candy flavor. Nice and warm but not overwhelming. Great for another snowy day! Thanks Naylynn for sharing!

Preparation
Nice EG, not much bergamot (which I like a lot of ) so a little disappointing. The little snowflakes are cute! I’m not sure exactly what the marshmallow is supposed to taste like in tea. I used my regular, old fashion tea strainer since there wasn’t enough for my Breville. I boiled the water in the Breville so I would have the right temp. First cup good, added monk’s fruit as my sweetener. (didn’t go well with my lemon pepper tuna, but what would) I did a resteep. OK, I almost did the resteep right. I heated the water but forgot there was no tea in the Breville basket. When it was hot I thoughtlessly poured the water into my cup and added sweetener. Then I looked at the cup… my goodness this looks weak. Duh! It was a cup of sweetened water. The tea leaves are in the other dispersion basket. LOL! I then poured the water onto the leaves. Problem solved! :D
Preparation
Well at first nothing. I probably under-leafed a bit. This was all I had from the sample and I did it in the Breville so there were 2 cups of water. The directions said 1.5 tsp/8 oz. I had maybe 2.5. For 4 min. Not much aroma or taste to me. (I think my taste buds and nose must be out of whack) I added a little monk’s fruit (liquid). Nothing. Okay, here comes the really weird part… I added a little salt. Oh my gosh! I love it. It brought the caramel right up. The salt did not taste salty but I know its there. MUCH better. Salt? Who would ever think of it… well, obviously me. :-D
Flavors: Caramel
Maybe add some extra almonds when you steep it the next time to give it more of a nutty flavor?
Good idea! Which would be better raw or toasted, whole or sliced?
