467 Tasting Notes
Okay, I’ll try for the third time.., somehow my 2 other attempts to do this tasting note died. Maybe this time I’ll actually get the note there. Thanks to the Tea and Card TTB for this lovely sample. The aroma of the dry leaves is caramel, caramel, caramel! Yummm! After brewing the aroma was still strong. On the beginning of the first sip it tasted pretty caramelly but then the black tea jumped in there. A little more black than I like. I added some sweetener. It was OK. I added some vanilla soy milk and suddenly it was wonderful. Enjoyable but not something I would go out of my way to buy.
On another note, I hurt my finger in the car door yesterday. I just jumped around and said to my blind friend, “No, I’m sure it’s okay. I’ll be fine. See I can still bend it.” While in my head I’m using every swear word you can imagine. (My friend is a pastor’s wife so I try not to subject her to my baaad side) Well later in the day after ibuprofen and ice packs its looking pretty bad. I’ll probably have to go in and have it x-rayed. Do you know how hard it is to type when note using my right index finger? My bad typing will be worse for the foreseeable future! But the caramel tea made my morning a bit better!
Flavors: Caramel
Preparation
Nice aroma although the peach smells a little artificial. The peach has the first flavor into my mouth and fills through the whole sip. It’s yummy. It is a juicy flavor although it does have a somewhat artificial flavor. I still like it. Many peach teas are so weak and bleh. I can taste the black tea but it doesn’t overwhelm. This one makes it for me.
Flavors: Peach
Preparation
This tea did not have as much bergamot as I would like. I know many don’t like bergamot but I have become totally addicted to it. I would choose Double Bergamot and a few others that go heavy on the bergamot. All in all, a nice tea but nothing for a bergamot lover to get excited about even though it is named Lord Bergamot.
Preparation
Thanks to the Tea and Card TTB for this tea! Although rooibos is not necessarily my favorite I am often surprised. I smell the caramel and rooibos when I open the pack. I used 212 degrees for 7.5 minutes. I taste a nice caramel with a vegetal overtone from the rooibos. As per usual, I added a touch of sweetener. Brings out the caramel just a bit. I enjoyed this sample and will resteep to see how it holds up. I wouldn’t rush out to buy it but I am comfortable drinking it and would be happy to have more.

Again thanks to the fabulous people in the Tea and Card TTB for another exciting sample. Aroma is sweet sugary and vanilla. On tasting it the rooibos makes it’s presence known. I’m not always wild about rooibos but it isn’t wildly strong. The vanilla isn’t as good as I had hoped. It tastes a little fake even though it says natural vanilla beans. I could use a bit more vanilla, so I added a bit of a liquid vanilla/stevia. Adds just enough vanilla to satisfy me. It’s a nice cup of tea, it fills the mouth smoothly and leaves a gentle vanilla aftertaste. It is good for an sweet evening dessert drink.
Flavors: Cream, Vanilla
Preparation
This is a wonderfully sweet dessert tea that I am thoroughly enjoying. The burnt sugar taste and aroma is awesome. I can taste the cake-y and the pineapple flavor. I am really enjoying tea this from the Tea and Card TTB. This is definitely going on my wish list and I will probably keep this sample.
Preparation
Thanks to Traveling Tea and Card Box I have this lovely smelling tea. The flavor didn’t really live up to the aroma. I added a little vanilla stevia. Not a strong chocolate or mint flavor. I’ll try this one again and maybe add a little more leaf. I am glad I didn’t buy a bunch when it was on sale. I don’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Still it’s good on a day when they are talking about more snow tonight :(
Oh, I think I’d be swearing a blue streak! and that sounds really, really painful. I hope you can get it sorted out soon!
I am so sorry to hear about your finger. That is never a fun experience. I once closed my roommates finger in a car door and when I finally released her hand after panicking for a second, my mom made her shove it into the bag holding the bagged milk (which I learned a few years back is a Canadian thing and therefore some people may have no clue what I am talking about). When I looked at her she looked like she was in so much pain and I felt so bad (later she told me the milk hurt more than the door but I didn’t know this at the time). Anyways, what this whole rant is getting to is that every time I hear about someone hurting themselves with a car door, I recall my roommates pained look and realize just how much it must suck. I hope it starts to mend soon and I would definitely get it xrayed.
I’ve done that before. Ugh. They drilled a hole in my nail at the ER. It took weeks before I was back to normal.
Oh no, hope your finger will be OK!
Ouch! Hope it feels better soon :(
