986 Tasting Notes
Okay, so I have to be honest and admit that I have no idea what a tamarind actually is. That being said, I love this tea! It’s naturally sweet and smooth and fruity (the fruit flavor seems citrusy to me, but I may be wrong) and one of those teas where the flavoring mingles so perfectly with the base that you can’t imagine it any other way. There’s just something special about Butiki’s blends…I’m going to be so sad when I finish mine off for good!
Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Honey, Smooth
Preparation
As I’m (sadly!) working on sipping down my Butiki collection, I’ve run across a few teas that I never got around to logging. This is one of them. While not my favorite Butiki selection, I find this to be a very cozy, comforting sort of tea for the fall and winter season. The base tea is front and center with the custard flavor adding a nice creaminess and that hint of nutmeg in the aftertaste warming everything up.
Flavors: Cream, Malt, Nutmeg
Preparation
I think I let this sample sit in my cupboard too long…I’m getting a very faint almond flavor and not much else. Not going to rate this, since I don’t think I’m getting a real representation of how it’s supposed to taste.
Flavors: Almond
Preparation
My first sip of this tea was so bitter and acidic, I almost dumped it out. But I decided to let it cool and I’m glad I did…as it cools down, the acidity recedes and the fruity flavor begins to pop a bit more. Still not the best grapefruit tea I’ve ever tried, but I enjoyed the second half of the cup!
Flavors: Bitter, Grapefruit, Grass
Preparation
Come to think of it, I think I’ve only had one other grapefruit tea as well: Pink Grapefruit by Tea Story. That one is DELICIOUS and totally leaves this one in the dust. :) But maybe I should check out the one from Adagio, since you recommend it!
Mmm, this is delicious! The base tea has a rich, bready flavor that mixes perfectly with the pop of sweet, juicy peach. Not sure what the difference is, but the loose leaf version is SO MUCH better than the bagged one.
Flavors: Bread, Peach
Preparation
This one’s a bit different from the black teas I usually go for, but I’m enjoying it! It’s smooth and fruity with no bitterness or astringency (even after a 4-minute steep!)
Flavors: Smooth, Stonefruit
Preparation
This is my staple bagged black tea for travel or the office! It brews up strong and malty without no bitterness or astringency. I like it best with milk, but also enjoy it plain.
Flavors: Malt
Preparation
I love Republic of Tea’s Ginger Peach tea, so I was eager to try Stash’s version. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of this one. The ginger was way too strong, completely overwhelming the base tea and whatever peach flavor was supposed to be present; I felt like I was just drinking a straight ginger tea. Definitely not something I would reach for again!
