963 Tasting Notes

I love a good coconut tea, so I had to grab this one from the box! Despite the other ingredients in the blend, all I’m really tasting is coconut flavor on a smooth black tea base. Nothing special, but it’s hitting the spot to get me through my last hour of work today.

I’ve never had “Scooby Snacks”, but to me this tea smelled like Teddy Grahams when I opened the bag. My hopes were high, but the actual flavor was rather disappointing. I got a hint of cinnamon and something that vaguely reminded me of cookies, but it was pretty faint. The base tea blend is nice and smooth, though!

Despite the long ingredient list for this blend, I mostly got ginger and turmeric with just a hint of anise. It felt very warming and healthy and I’d probably enjoy it quite a bit if I was sick! But I wish there was a bit more complexity to the flavor profile.

I had to do a double-take after trying this one, because it tasted EXACTLY like the Earl Grey Moonlight I sampled yesterday. The vanilla and cream notes came through strongly and the lavender was basically nonexistent. Not sure how to rate this one. I really liked the flavor! But it didn’t match the name.

The dry leaf of this blend is so fun with lots of colorful sprinkles and mini white chocolate chips! And I was happy to see that (unlike far too many of David’s Tea’s dessert blends) it didn’t include stevia on the ingredient list. While that meant I didn’t hate it, I unfortunately also didn’t love it. The flavor is quite one-note: straight-up sweet white chocolate that coats your tongue with the oily melted chocolate chips. And in my cup it was an unpleasant murky yellow color. Would probably be better as a latte, but it just isn’t interesting enough to try that.

This was such an interesting tea! I enjoyed reading some of the backstory here on Steepster. Though it’s not a flavor profile I’m typically drawn to, I enjoyed sampling this tea. It almost came across like a puerh with a very earthy, complex flavor. There were some dark chocolate notes in there and a lingering mineral aftertaste. Not sure this is something I’d drink again, but I’m glad to have tried it.

Earl Grey Cream/London Fog blends are pretty hit and miss for me, but this one was a hit! The vanilla flavoring is definitely present, but doesn’t overpower the bergamot. It’s a bit astringent straight, but really yummy with milk and would make a wonderful latte! I’m hanging onto the last little bit of this one.
Flavors: Astringent, Bergamot, Creamy, Vanilla

This was definitely fruity, but it also had a bit of a bitter herbal note in the aftertaste that I didn’t enjoy. It also had a STRONG aroma, which my husband did not appreciate.

I’ve been wanting to try this one for a while, so I was excited to see it in the box! I found it a bit thinner and more astringent than the Russian Caravan I’ve been enjoying from Market Spice, but I did appreciate how balanced and nuanced the smoky flavor was.

This tea has a really nice almond flavor, but I wish the base tea was more robust. It came across as a bit thin and one-note. I decided to try adding milk, which did make it more creamy and enjoyable for me. But I greatly prefer Fava’s Almond Cookie!
