This is yummy! Sweet and creamy with lots of pina colada flavor. Sad they sold out of it before I got to snag some in their clearance sale.

Flavors: Coconut, Creamy, Pineapple

This is exactly what the name promises! Smooth, cool, refreshing mint. I had it hot this morning but I’m guessing it would also be excellent iced. And I love that it’s 100% organic! This one may be staying at my house…

Where’s the creme brulee? All I’m tasting here is rooibos with a hint of mint. Not a fan.

This tea actually had a note on it saying “Do not sniff too deeply upon opening”. Challenge accepted! But despite the dire warning, I didn’t find the aroma or flavor overwhelmingly strong. Basically, this is a glittery black chai with a hint of plum.

Ooo, I like this one! Like the last Bluebird tea I sampled, this one has a beautiful dry leaf with cute little sprinkles…but this one brews up GLITTERY! A total gimmick, but still fun. And the flavor was surprisingly complex: vanilla, spice cake (I actually got a cake flavor, not just spices), and orange peel predominating.

Flavors: Cake, Orange, Spices, Vanilla

This is pretty good, although it doesn’t hold a candle to my favorite Market Spice gingerbread tea. Ginger and clove are the main notes with a hint of molasses.

drank Pear Black by Simpson & Vail

Here’s Hoping TTB

Pear is a flavor that seems hard to capture in a tea and I was intrigued by the fact that this one had a black tea base instead of the more typical white or green. It definitely smells like pears and has a strong, sweet fruity flavor. But to me, it tasted more like apple than pear. Quite good, but not exactly what I was hoping for.

I love a good chai, but this one was a disappointment: a thin, sweet cinnamon brew lacking the depth and rich spiciness that I was hoping for.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Sweet

DT goes a bit overboard with their cinnamon sometimes. They seem to forget that you can actually use cinnamon in a blend without it being the only flavour present.

Inkling

True that! I like cinnamon within reason, but not when it’s the only thing I can taste…

This one will wake you up in the morning! It isn’t a CTC, but it drinks like one: strong, malty, and rather bitter. I didn’t care for it straight, but it made a pretty nice morning brew once I added a splash of milk.

I was surprised to find this in the “unflavored blacks” section of the TTB instead of in the “smoky tea” bag. Turns out, it was filed correctly. This is a lovely smooth, malty black tea with a warm honeyed sweet potato flavor and not even a hint of smoke. Quite delicious!

Yeah, this one is definitely not smoky! :D

Bio

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ~ C.S. Lewis

I was introduced to loose leaf tea by a roommate in 2012, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon Steepster in 2014 that I discovered a world of tea that went beyond Teavana and the grocery store.

My tastes continue to evolve, but black tea is currently my favorite. I am especially drawn to strong, malty breakfast blends to wake me up in the morning and flavored dessert teas to sip throughout the day.

Just about everything in my cupboard is available to swap, so feel free to ask!
