961 Tasting Notes
This tea has a very bright, slightly sour citrus taste with just a bit of a floral flavor to it as well. It becomes quite bitter if you over-steep it. Personally, I prefer my citrus teas to have a strong second flavor to balance out the citrus and keep it from becoming overpowering, so this one wasn’t my favorite.
Flavors: Citrus, Citrus Zest, Floral, Sour, Tart
Preparation
This was an enjoyable iced tea; I definitely wouldn’t recommend drinking it hot! Sweetened, it’s just like drinking limeade. Unsweetened, it’s a very refreshing summer tea. It brews up to a nice pale green color and has a strong (but not too tart) lime flavor with a pleasant hint of pineapple.
Flavors: Lime, Pineapple, Pleasantly Sour, Tart
Preparation
This tea smells delicious and brews up to a beautiful ruby red – exactly the color of a ripe strawberry! Unfortunately, the flavor doesn’t live up to the presentation. I definitely taste the strawberry and there is a slight hint of creaminess, but I find the hibiscus makes it unpleasantly tart, especially if you brew it too long. Probably won’t be repurchasing this one.
Flavors: Cream, Hibiscus, Sour, Strawberry, Tart
Preparation
This tea smells AMAZING when it is brewing and tastes almost as good as it smells: rich and creamy. The coconut flavor really comes through, but there is also a definite hint of dark chocolate; both mingle beautifully with the black tea base. I like it both black and with milk. It’s a great dessert substitute…I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself at all if I drink a mug of this instead of eating a piece of candy. Highly recommended!
Flavors: Coconut, Dark Chocolate
Preparation
This tea is strong and malty and just a bit bitter if you drink it straight. It’s delicious with milk! I drank an entire box and enjoyed every cup, but my not re-purchase because I’m getting into loose-leaf black teas which I enjoy even more.
Flavors: Bitter, Malt
Preparation
I love Earl Grey, but this one really wasn’t my favorite. It was surprisingly bitter and the bergamot flavor was too heavy for my liking. I drank the entire box of this, but won’t be re-purchasing because there are so many better versions of this tea out there.
Flavors: Bergamot, Bitter
Preparation
I really wanted to like this tea. It has a great name and it brews up to a beautiful fuschia color. But I really don’t taste the other flavors that are supposed to be here; the hibiscus overwhelms everything else. Hot, it’s almost undrinkable. Cold, it’s better, but still quite tart and sour. I suppose I could sweeten it, but if I’m going to be drinking sugar, I’d rather have lemonade than this stuff. Definitely won’t be re-purchasing.
Flavors: Hibiscus, Sour, Tart
Preparation
This tea was such a disappointment! I love caramel and I love chai, so getting an ounce of this new Teavana offering with my latest Starbucks reward seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately, this tea doesn’t taste like caramel at all and it doesn’t really have the complexity of a chai either. It’s more like an intense cinnamon/clove tea that assaults your taste buds with spiciness. It isn’t the worst tea I’ve ever drunk; I’ll finish what I have, but definitely won’t be re-purchasing this one.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Clove
Preparation
I haven’t tried many green teas yet and I haven’t enjoyed most of the ones I’ve had. But this one is delicious! The mint and lemon flavors are both quite subtle, but just present enough to make it so refreshing. It’s good both hot and iced. I’m working on my second box!
Flavors: Freshly Cut Grass, Lemongrass, Spearmint
Preparation
I tried this one hot today and wasn’t a huge fan. The flavor was pleasant, but rather bland…and it was a lot more oolong than strawberry! The company suggests drinking it as an iced tea, so I will try that next time to see if I like it better.
Flavors: Floral, Strawberry
