Advent Calendar Day 4

I generally steer clear of teas with “apple” in the name because so often they taste only of cinnamon and not of apple at all. This one is a happy exception to that trend! I really am getting apple vibes…not fresh-from-the-orchard apple, but more like a baked apple with a bit of cinnamon and ginger sprinkled on top. The spices don’t overwhelm the fruit at all (not sure it actually qualifies as a “chai” to be honest!) and the nutty flavor is also quite subtle: to me, it’s coming across almost like the skin of the apple. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up liking this!

Flavors: Apple, Apple Skins, Cinnamon, Ginger, Smooth, Sweet

Preparation
Boiling 6 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Agreed about the apple and cinnamon, but yay for this tea being different!

I actually debated with myself about whether I should call it “spiced apple nut” or “apple nut chai” and I decided that I seem to call everything “spiced.” Since this was crafted just as autumn approached, I went with chai to go with the season because – it’s my opinion that autumn/fall should just be called CHAI. :)

haha, yep, autumn is the drinking gallons of chai time. :D

Bio

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ~ C.S. Lewis

I was introduced to loose leaf tea by a roommate in 2012, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon Steepster in 2014 that I discovered a world of tea that went beyond Teavana and the grocery store.

My tastes continue to evolve, but black tea is currently my favorite. I am especially drawn to strong, malty breakfast blends to wake me up in the morning and flavored dessert teas to sip throughout the day.

Just about everything in my cupboard is available to swap, so feel free to ask!
