As I was designing the menu for this month’s teas, my mind was definitely on my favorite season of the year: Fall! I don’t know if I’m just in a hurry for Fall to get here or for this year to be over . . . .
Either way, I think you’ll be happy that fall is approaching when you try the teas I created for this month – starting with this one! It starts with a base of organic Honeybush & Rooibos. To that, I added almond essence (no worries, it’s nut free!) & bits of dried apple. Finally, I added some cinnamon & ginger. I didn’t go for all the traditional spices for this one, because I wanted more focus on the apple notes & I think this blend captures just the right balance of sweet apple, nutty notes & warm spices – it tastes a bit like a warm apple crumble (that is, if you drink it while it’s still hot! It is really good iced too, if you prefer it!)
This blend is all organic, VEGAN, gluten-free, allergen-free & naturally caffeine-free – making it a perfect tisane to sip on day or night!
Taster size is approximately 15g
organic ingredients: honeybush, rooibos, apples, cinnamon, ginger root & natural flavors

Yum! Sipping on this makes me so eager for fall to finally get here! Like I said in the above description: I’m not sure if I just want my favorite season of the year to get here or I’m ready for this year to finally be over. That said, I really am so done with the hot weather, even though this year, we’ve had a cooler summer than in recent years past, I still am ready for the cooler days of autumn.
The apple here is perfect – the cinnamon & ginger accent the apple nicely. The apple with the spices are evocative of a cup of hot apple cider – but when the nutty notes come through, I’m reminded of a tasty apple crumble, fresh out of the oven. All that is needed is a scoop of ice cream. As it happens, this tisane makes a delightful latte!
to brew: give the pouch a good shake to blend the ingredients thoroughly – they will settle – and you’ll want a fair representation of the spices in every cup! measure 4g of leaf, fruit & spice to 12 ounces of freshly filtered water heated to 190°F – allow to steep for 10 minutes. strain & allow to cool for 5 minutes. enjoy!
I do recommend adding a bit of sugar as this will enhance not just the spice notes but also the apple. You don’t need a lot of sugar for it – just a half a teaspoon will do – but the addition will bring out those flavors nicely!
