391 Tasting Notes
This is a pretty good one, thanks for the sample Laurent. I kind of forgot it so it must have steeped like 10+ minutes but still turned out good. It totally does taste like peaches, apricot and cream but the taste changes as it cools. I tasted more cream when it was hotter and then at the end the apricot was strongest. I wonder how why they chose this flavoring for Scorpio? I would’ve thought something bolder but its nice. I like samples, I like apricot but not a lot so I don’t think I’d buy it to drink often.
I wasn’t expecting much of this since I haven’t really like the white teas I’ve had a whole lot. I think they come off too delicately for me. But this tastes great. It smelled like toffee, it tasted like toffee – sweet and nutty, stronger than I was expecting too but not so much that it is horribly artificial either. I like it so much I didn’t ask if anyone else at home wanted to try… I know, not nice. Next time…
Wow, this tea is sweet and fruity. I like it. The cherry really stands out and I don’t think any other tea I’ve tried so far has this strong of a cherry taste. It totally reminds me of some candy that I can’t remember the name of. I’ve been mostly drinking stuff that I’ve already had trying to “get through” the stash but wanted to finally try new tea. It’s a holiday today so I have time to enjoy the tea, good time for tasting. Thanks to Laurent for asking me what I’d like to try when I made an order. Nina’s Tea has awesome customer service!
This is good as an iced tea. I like the citrus flavor that comes out in it. It’s pretty light and refreshing, I definitely think that cold is how I’ll be using the rest of this. I’ll have to see how it goes cold-brewed (more time for me to sleep in on the morning before packing for work). Thanks again to Jude. Now I should find a yuzu tea that I can get easily on my own :)
I have been slacking on coming on steepster and doing the tasting notes. Part of it is starting up the new school year and the other part is trying not to buy new teas! It is so hard when I see the sales and discussions… This is the first time trying this yuzu sencha green tea and it’s a nice green tea. I don’t get yuzu strongly but there is a little something there. I’ve been obsessed with yuzu since I got a yuzu honey in Japan last year. It was awesome and I can’t find an online store that I can understand that I can buy it from :(. It’s a rare rainy day here so I could drink this hot. I’ve also been sick so this feels great to drink, very comforting and mellow. Thanks to Judy for swapping with me for this, I really wanted to try it!
A tea from a mystery swap, Thanks Shelley_Lorraine! This tea smells really good, and I definitely got the tiramisu type taste. But I somehow tasted a little maple? The rooibos taste is pretty strong in this one but it kind matches well with the flavoring I think but this isn’t a tea I’d like to have a lot of. Good to try though definitely, a little treat :)
Thanks to Teascent for the oolong sample! I got 2 teabags in a foil bag to try out. What I love about oolongs is that the leaves are so small when dry but really plump up when brewed. The teabag became like a little floating pillow :) I started sipping at about 5 minutes, and the tea was light and floral. It seems like a nice tea for snacking with since the taste is not too strong. The bag floated on the top because of the air bubble but was too hot to grab so I just drank the tea and left it floating but after about 7 minutes the flowery taste got stronger and I preferred the lighter taste so i grabbed a spoon to fish it out. The aftertaste was pretty light as well. It does hold up to resteeping well and did not lose taste. I think I’ll give the second bag to my dad to try, he’s been having light green teas lately and I think he’ll like this one.
I do like the samples from Lupicia… Too bad you can’t just buy 1 teabag every time so that trying different teas would be so easy. I like this one well enough, it is fruit smelling and the berry taste is strong enough. It would probably be a nice iced tea as well. I can’t tell between various berry taste so it tastes good to me, kind of like jam/jelly. If my toaster still worked I would definitely have this tea with jam and toast in the morning.. I only found tangy honey mustard ruffles chips to eat so far.
