From DAVIDsTEA

Indulge

This ultra-rare oolong from the Wuyi Mountains of China is velvety smooth and lightly creamy, with a subtle hint of orchid. It’s said that it came about when the moon fell in love with a comet. The comet passed her by, as comets will do. The moon cried milky tears, which chilled the tea fields, withering the leaves and giving them a delicate creaminess. It’s been a rare luxury ever since.

Ingredients: Chinese oolong tea from the Fujian province, natural flavouring.

This tea is indeed quite creamy and also smooth. I really enjoy it with a bit of sugar added. Probably my favourite straight oolong as well.

I have to say that this takes the prize for worst flavored oolong I have ever tried. The leaves smell of vitamins and minerals, which would be great if I were trying to drink a supplement. It’s like saying Ovaltine smells like chocolate…right.

My first brew at 195 yielded chalky vitamin water that vaguely tasted of milk. The thick mouthfeel is pretty much all I can credit this for. It smells vitaminy too. My husband, who had no idea that I was even making tea, said that whatever I am eating right now smells like the dentist’s office. I didn’t smell it, but the experience is about as pleasant as a dentist’s office.

Brewed again at 212 to fix the chalkiness or something, and it seems to have boiled away the flavor. Now I’m getting the grassy floral of a really cheap TGY.

Just…no.

DAVIDsTEA has been on a “matcha boosted” tea kick lately, and I’m down to the last one or two cups of this tea in my cupboard. So, I tried dusting a teaspoon of my own matcha on top of the oolong tea leaves before filling up my Perfect Steeper with hot water. Not bad!

This is a wonderfully creamy tea that tastes quite green, yet distinctly oxidised. The best part about butterfly teas is watching it unravel into beautiful whole leaves in your cup.

I still really like this tea. Im wishing I had of bought more than 50 grams when I did.

I have been steeping the same cup about 10 times now and it is still great. Not an overpowering taste, very light compared to other oolongs I find – though It could be because of excessive steeps. Even though Its light I find it pretty perfect.

Still highly recommend this one.

Not bad, but not quite as good as Zen Tea’s (and of course the highest rated oolong on here). It’s mostly vegetal, brothy, buttery, and sweet. Glad to have tried it. Thanks Evol!

One of my favourites of the Oolongs at DavidsTea. It’s good alone, hot or iced, and good with or without milk. I find if you add any sweetener it takes away from the flavour. I like to use around 85 degree water, so that the leaves don’t burn but it’s hot enough that it doesn’t cool right away. I’ve resteeped the same batch twice more, and both times it tasted exactly the same but a little more buttery.

Mastress Alita’s Monthly Sipdown Challenge: a cream-flavored tea

DT’s milk oolong has always been one of my favorites. I love that the added flavoring is milky and not buttery, which I find a lot of milk oolongs tend to suffer from.

This is old, but the flavor hasn’t been effected.

Hum. I really did not like this one, though I really wished I would enjoy my cup. It IS quite relaxing, I was sleepy after a few sips. However, it smelled weird and the taste was almost…like fish? Weird.

Flavors: Fish Broth, Fishy
