658 Tasting Notes
Oh, man. I was really hoping this would work for me this time. This is the third or fourth try. I used slightly more leaf but brewed it only for 2 minutes.
The fragrance once steeped just smells like the bergamot fragrance oils I put in soap, and it kind of tastes that way, too (I presume). For some reason this has an unpleasant chemical taste to me. It’s all I can taste, without any sense of cheesecake. Maybe a hint of a vanilla-type somethin’ every few sips.
This is not as strong this time around so it’s drinkable, but not good. I don’t get it. A good-quality Earl Grey is hard to beat for me. It’s always been my fave. Cheesecake doesn’t even need a mention. But, I haven’t been a fan of any of my 52 Teas teas and this is the most disappointing as it sounded so incredible. I don’t know how my tastebuds can be so different from everyone else’s!
And how did I manage to make this bitter? It’s still bitter with only a 2-minute steep!
This was my it’s-late-and-I-want-to-sleep-tonight decaf choice at a cafe where I was having dessert as I’d been craving chai and had had a long walk in the cold. I didn’t expect much tea-wise from wherever we stopped for cheesecake, but I was pleasantly surprised! This delivered.
I found it reasonably spicy, and the clove is strong. The ginger was also pretty noticeable to me and made my mouth tingle, but I’m really sensitive to ginger for some reason. I drank it with milk, and it was pretty solid.
The peach in this is just right. It’s not knocking me backwards but it harmonizes with the rooibos really well. I actually don’t taste much rooibos. They blend together very nicely.
This would make an excellent iced tea but since I won’t be able to get any more, I don’t know if it will last till any kind of weather when I will feel like drinking something cold!
I woke up cranky, still tired, with low blood sugar, and somehow ran out of time to eat anything before going to work. This is becoming a comfort tea for me when I am cranky and bratty. It feels decadent so it works for me in those moods.
Sometimes it tastes pretty floral and others it’s more chocolate-strawberry. I’m still weirded out by it as the thought of a rose tea kind of repels me. But, clearly I like it! I even just sniffed my empty Libre because it still smells so good.
