From DAVIDsTEA

This fruity organic black tea is our ode to the blueberry. Long before the “superfood” era, blueberries were called “star berries” and renowned for their healing properties. Dark, sweet and plump, their juicy flavour comes through perfectly in cakes, jams – and this satisfying blend of black tea, elderberries, cornflowers and stevia. It’s the perfect companion to your morning toast.

Ingredients
Organic black tea, Organic black currants, Organic elderberries, Organic blueberries, Natural blueberry flavouring, Organic raspberry flavouring, Cornflower petals, Organic stevia extract.

Instructions
1-2 Perfect Spoonfuls of tea
475 ml (16 oz) of 95℃/200℉ water for hot tea or 295 ml (10 oz) for iced

Yum! Deliciously tart and sweet, almost like biting into a blueberry. Lovely way to start the morning after breakfast. I do wish I steeped this for longer, as the flavour feels like it could be stronger when it’s not.

I must say I’m impressed, though. I was extremely skeptical about this flavour. I’ve had bad experiences with blueberry in teas before (*cough*Celestial Seasonings*cough*Lipton*cough, cough*) so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from this. But sure enough, I’m not left disappointed. I have a feeling this would make a wonderful iced tea.

I love a nice black tea, and I don’t mind a good flavoured tea, but this one was lacking the punch of the actual tea. The blueberry flavour was nice—I enjoyed picking out the blueberries and eating them afterwards. However, even after 4 mins it was a light brew that doesn’t hold up well to milk. I didn’t totally dislike it, but I wouldn’t add it to my cupboard.

You are right. It didn’t taste like tea enough. During the day I add more hot water to the leaves and the first resteep didn’t have very much flavour at all.

Day #3 of the advent calendar! This was one of the first DT flavours I ever tried, but I haven’t had it in a long, long time. Drinking this brought back some good memories!

I’m just getting into teas, and I’ve only tried a couple so far. Generally, I’ve found I like sweeter, “dessert” teas, and so far the only ones i’ve LOVED have been rooibos types.

This blend is the first black tea I’ve tried. This tastes… actually alright for tea. I’m pretty sure it’s the tea plant itself I don’t like, since I’ve only loved the rooibos. I like this better than some of the green teas I have tried. I made it straight, no milk or sweeteners.

When I first sip it, it’s pure tea flavor, which I don’t really like, but luckily it’s not too strong. Then the blueberry takes over and leaves a really nice sweet aftertaste which reminds me of a delicious blueberry pie.

So overall, I like it. I would drink it again. And, I feel like this type of blend is exactly what I need to start liking the actual tea plant taste!

I wish I’d read some of the notes before I finished this off! Then I might have tried it iced, which I think I would have enjoyed better. Though I actually did like this blend – the blueberry jam flavor was pretty accurate most of the time – some days the stevia was more pronounced, even though I was making it the same way. I think putting this over ice would have done the trick. In any case, while this did taste of blueberry, I think I’d rather put in the sugar myself.

This one is really lovely. I’m enjoying it warm with just a splash of half and half (which is how I like all my hot black teas) and it seems like it would be really good iced in the summer. I will definitely be repurchasing this one. It smells of really rich blueberries and the taste doesn’t disappoint. Sweet (but not overly so) and fruity while still having a strong black tea base flavor. Perfect year round.

This tea is exactly what it says it is.. blueberry jam. It is very good iced and hot. I don’t normally find blueberry teas too strong, but this one is extremely strong, especially being paired with the black tea base. I really enjoy the strength of it. I was hesitant at first because they did put stevia in it, and I definitely like to control my own sweetener in it (as i drink most teas black).

I want to give this a higher rating. I really really do… but.

Sigh.

First tried this when it camr out as a ToTM last year. Blueberry Lattes? Yes please. However when it came to refilling the tin.., or even having a cup the week after? Something…went wrong. I dunno if its jsut me but this is a really tempermental one for me. Can never seem to steep it just right enough to get that magical blueberry flavour without the stevia or bitterness. Like, its still good but, it could be better. A shame, because done right, this tea can be magnificent. :(

I love this blueberry tea as much as I hoped I would when I ordered it. The taste is true blueberry but it took me a while to figure that out because I really just want to sit and smell it in the cup all morning long.

I was concerned about the stevia making it too fakely sweet, but it is light and barely noticeable.

LOVE this tea! Normally not a fan of very flavoured teas but this holds a special place in my heart. Delicious when mixed with Forever Nuts from David’s. I have bought this one a couple times now.
