129 Tasting Notes
Deep roasted nutty flavor with
Bread notes
This is wonderful when steeped for 3 minutes,
but even better (JMHO) when steeped up to 4 1/2 minutes or so
It never becomes bitter or astringent…simply deeper flavor.
It reminds me of Soba Cha Deep Roast without the overwhelming sweetness
or the sweet aroma…I cannot say this has an aroma after steeping
dry it smells lightly green/vegetal
I wish I could keep this and order more….Love it ♡
Preparation
The tea has no particular fragrance dry or otherwise.
The liquor has a bit of an oily substance to it that gives it a rather
silky texture to the mouthful.
A touch of stevia brings out a very slight fruity flavor.
So much for my love of flavored teas :-/
I taste the marshmallows, but the base tea is much to watery & weak
and it just doesn’t stand up to the marshmallows and sweetness well.
For me, the base tea needs to be much heavier.
Mostly with this one I just get overly sweet with little substance.
The really sad part is the dry tea looked and smelled so yummy…
sigh…perhaps my expectations were too high.
Flavors: Marshmallow
The smell of this tea is very non-descript…simply tea.
A moderately woody tea with light fruity and nutty notes and
a moderate astringency without bitterness.
I throughly enjoyed this tea.
Flavors: Fruity, Nutty, Wet Wood
Preparation
I am not crazy about chocolate and mint in teas…
so it is just “ok” for me.
I would much prefer a rich cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows
or whipped cream.
I prefer many of David’s other teas, but this just doesn’t do it for me :-(
Flavors: Chocolate
I feel the same way about chocolate teas – the flavor always seems very thin and unsatisfying. Perhaps I just haven’t met the right chocolate tea yet…
I have tried several now and while this one was not bad, I would much rather have
a simple cup of hot cocoa :-)
Yeah I think that’s my problem too, no tea can ever hope to compare to a hot chocolate in terms of creamy chocolateyness. And I shouldn’t expect them to. :P
This was a tiny sample from the here’s hoping traveling box…
there were no blueberries in the sample and no taste of blueberry.
This simply tasted like maple syrup in water…not even the cinnamon flavor
that is on the top of blueberry buckle…such a disappointment :-(
Mmmmm…I love EG’s & THIS does not disappoint!
The Lemon grass and Orange peel balance out the Bergomot really nicely…
The overall feel is rich and creamy, BUT
The bready taste from the Yunnan Golden Buds
gives it somewhat of a cookie texture to me…mmmm….so perfect.
If you have not tried this Yet it is definitely worth the coins.
Best for a relaxing morning or evening wind down…
love, Love, LOVE
