The mellow green teas in this blend are the perfect base for a light version of a glass of eggnog and praline cookies. This tea is creamy, sweet, light, and refreshing all at the same time. Lightly roasted pecans mingle with the vegetal note of the green tea that we are glad wasn’t covered up. Dare we say it-this tea tastes just fantastic sweetened up.

This was my second cup of the morning (my first was Plum Brandy Cheesecake). I’ve written a note for it before, but I felt compelled to add another today because I experienced this one slightly differently from my first few cups. For starters, I can actually taste eggnog! Such creamy deliciousness. I can also taste praline pretty strongly in the mid-sip, and the combination is a great one. The first couple of times I brewed this, it always felt like the green base was just a little bit overpowering – like I could taste that more than I could either of the flavours. This time? Not so. I’m not quite sure what I did differently (if anything). I certainly didn’t make any changes on purpose! Perhaps I just reached an optimum point on the bag, or something? All I care about at the moment is that this cup is thoroughly delicious, and for that reason alone I HAD to log it. Noms!
When I first went to make this tea, I forgot it was green. Oops. So, today I decided to try it again. The is mostly green, with a little bit of spice. There is a creamy, veggie flavour. Wish I had more of this to try. Thanks to Cheri for the sample.

So…this one smelled super creamy and green-tea-ish. xD Vegetable-ish…I don’t know the word. xD This tea really reminds me of pistachio Ice Cream, which I really didn’t like.
I love pistachios, but wasn’t really for me I guess.
Both of those teas taste wayy too green and creamy for me. :S Couldn’t really get over the green-ness in this one, so couldn’t really decide if it reminded me of egg nog. :/
Oh well. Least I got to try.

I received this in a swap with Cheri a while ago and am just now getting around to trying it. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because I didn’t really care for Creamy Eggnog, but surprisingly I found it to be really pleasant. I would definitely drink this again. It was definitely creamy and I get a bit of vanilla maybe? I think I like it better than creamy eggnog because it was much less eggy.

Okay so I just got this from Cheri. The dry leaf smells interesting. A kinda spicy scent.
I mistook this for black tea at a glance and boiled water. I burned the leaf. It tasted terrible. I started over, glad there was a nice sized sample.
The second round, I kept the water where it should be for a green tea, steeped carefully and sweetened lightly. When I got a good inhale of the aroma I nearly gagged. It smelled so off to me. A strange, thick scent that wasn’t eggnoggy at all, tho I thought I might have been getting an eggy scent possibly. I can’t even describe it. I just didn’t like it.
When I took a sip, I was hoping for some similance of eggnog. I can’t say that existed here. It was a slightly spiced, vegetal green with an icky savory note that I guess was egg-like. I have no idea really, because I couldn’t make myself take more than a few sips. My sister tried it also and agreed, no eggnog was found here.
So I guess we’ll stick to Eggnog as a seasonal treat rather than a tea flavor. haha. :)

And I really want to make that doubly clear: I’m always happy to try new teas whether I end up liking them or not. I hope I don’t offend anyone with my reviews when they have sent me a tea. I still appreciate the send and I definitely enjoy the experiences even if my review is negative. ^^

I still really like this tea. It’s been a while since I have had it, but since I have so much of it still I need to be drinking it.

I’m working from home today because my poor Penny cat isn’t doing so well still. He’s been sick for a while now. The latest round of antibiotics is giving him an upset tummy, and I think he’s throwing it up before it gets into his system. (We give it to him before bed, so we weren’t sure, but I’ve decided that he is indeed throwing it up too soon.) Now he’s not interested in treats, and if you know Penny, you know that’s not a good sign. Well, he’s not interested in some of the treats that normally he goes crazy for. So Penny and I are headed to the vet in a little bit.

have you added probiotics to his food? I found that my cats recover from antibiotics much quicker if I use them. Vets will only prescribe FortiFlora, but there are better ones on the market that you can get from amazon. PM me if you want more info. good luck.
Thanks for the suggestion, donkeytiara. He hasn’t been responding positively to the antibiotics, so we’re stopping them and trying an appetite stimulant and a round of steroids.
Could they give him an anti nausea? That helped Buddy.
Oh, Those appetite stimulants made my cat start talking a lot and he hasn’t stopped. That was three years ago! Hope it works and keep us posted. We’ve used anti-nausea medication before and that has also worked. Keeping fingers crossed.

Comfort and quality of life is where it sounds like we’re at now. :( but I am not going to make him suffer so I get 6 more months with him. We’re hoping the steroids help him feel better for the time being. He is starting to eat more again, which is a very good sign.
You are kind to be cognizant of the quality of his life for him, and not for you….he couldn’t ask for a better owner! At the end, it always comes down to 2 words: no regrets. PM me if you need to dump emotions…I’m a cat person that completely understands what you’re going through. :)

Thanks VariaTEA for the sample. In a moment of clarity I finished this off last night. I actually really liked it, but I didn’t think it tasted any different than the regular Creamy Eggnog and I’m not sure if that’s because I’m sick or if the difference is really subtle.
I think I would need to directly compare to really solve the puzzle, and I happen to be out of both, so probably not going to actually happen…

It is simply “ok” if steeped for 2 minutes, BUT
But over steep it and it is undrinkable…too fussy for me
the vegetal taste of the green tea doesn’t mix well for me and yet
I LOVE Eggnog Matcha…go figure…

Sipdown! (128) I was very skeptical about this tea from the get-go. I’m pretty picky when it comes to heavily flavored teas and also Chinese green teas. However, I wanted something sweeter and less caffeinated for my post-dinner treat. I was very happily surprised by this tea! It starts off with that creamy eggnog taste. Then, I can taste the nutty and caramel-like flavors of praline. The Chinese green slips in right at the end. At first, I was a bit disappointed that it did not have as thick of a mouthfeel as I expected (I was thinking eggnog!), but as I kept sipping on the cup, I forgot about it. As it cools, it does get a bit of that trademark bitter taste from the Chinese green tea base, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. Thanks so much to Kat_Maria for sending this to me! I probably wouldn’t have ever tried it myself otherwise.
