43 Tasting Notes
I got some sample packs of this tea a while ago and set them aside, because I hate cucumber. But today I had an upset stomach and this was the first mint tea I could find in my stash, so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! Not sure I really got any cucumber at all, unless that was what accounted for the clean flavor of the tea. Not overly minty either, but a pleasant amount. Pleasant!
Wanted something simple for this evening. I’m still new to rooibos teas and I’m not sure if I like them. (all the ones I have are from David’s Tea- I think this is my favorite so far.) I always end up adding a few drops of Stevia to bring out the flavor.
Preparation
I had this tea at Bosie Tea Parlor in the West Village earlier this month and I had to go back to see if they sold the tea to take home- and they do! I got 2 oz in an adorable little tin with a neat lid for $6. Not always a fan of flavored green teas but this one is just scrumptious.
Directions say to steep for 2-4 min- I did 3 min to start and added another minute for more flavor.
Preparation
I had never seen a tea like this before! I was even a little skeptical that pouring water over it would result in tea after 2.5 min, but it did.
Let my water cool a little too much before adding- steeped for 2.5 min as directed at 150F. I wish I had let it go for a little longer- the flavor is nice but a little too light.
Second steep, let it go for about 5 min, taste was roughly the same.
Grassy and fresh- exactly how you’d expect something that looks so fresh to taste. Didn’t love it though.
