353 Tasting Notes
I got a sample of this from chrimabro – THANKS, CHRISTINA!
I found this surprisingly weak in flavor. I steeped it for 3 minutes and the water was barely colored, and I could not taste much of anything, so I steeped it again for another 2-3 minutes. Better with the additional steeping time but still way too light for my personal taste.
Also, I laugh at Teavana’s claim that this is the “highest grade of oolong in the world.” Sorry, babe, but I’ve had better.
Preparation
This is pretty tasty.
Brewed 1 heaping tsp in 15 oz of water for 2 1/2 minutes.
The coconut is more of an aftertaste. But the jasmine is lighter than other jasmine teas I’ve had, and it works really well. I imagine the rooibos helps tones is down and helps all the flavors blend together.
It’s very nice.
Preparation
This was disappointing. The description stated “super-chocolaty blend.” It tastes more like watery chocolate. However, I suspect that this would be better if the chocolate chips in the blend had actually melted completely and become a strong flavor. Maybe next time, I will let is steep for a short eternity. The combination of the flavors is actually really good, and I can see it in a hot chocolate mix working very well. The cinnamon and chocolate mix together nicely. I just wish it was stronger.
Preparation
A very pleasant light green tea. Tasty and very vegetable like. I admit to not giving this tea the full attention it deserved since I was distracted by internet things. I will have to drink this again and write a more detailed note later.
Preparation
This is easily one of the best Earl Grey/EG blends I’ve tried. SO DELICIOUS. Surprisingly light for a black tea. The bergamot wasn’t overpowering, and the floral taste is so light that it acts as more of a garnish than an actual flavor. Lovely.
(Also, please please I hope Capital Teas keeps this one in stock for a while, even after royal wedding fever has died down. It’s delicious.)
Preparation
I fell in love with the smell of this and had to have some. Steeped, the tea is pretty delicious. The blueberry taste is not as strong as the other blueberry rooibos I’ve tried (Teavana) but I really like this too. And with a spoonful of sugar, delicious, though it was also drinkable without.
Preparation
I was a little worried about how this would taste because the smell of the dried tea was so cloyingly sweet. I shouldn’t have worried. The osmanthus was present, and there is an additional oily taste that I’m not used to in oolong, but overall it complements the oolong rather than overpowers is.
It’s not my favorite oolong – it is missing some of the subtleties that I enjoy – but it’s very good.
Preparation
I tried this again with a spoonful of sugar. It’s okay. The sugar overpowers the chai flavor, but I remember that I didn’t much care for the tea without sugar. Maybe some cream would help it?
I finished the cup this time! I didn’t last time.
