353 Tasting Notes
I’m enjoying this one. Thanks for the sample, chrimabro!
Brewed this with a bit of sugar. This is a really mellow chai, and I like it that way. I am not normally a fan of chais because I find the mixture of spices too overpowering and I don’t like ginger. This chai, however, is muted and pleasant. I’m not sure I’d buy this myself but I am pleasantly surprised.
Preparation
Glad you like it! I’m crazy about this one. I find the flavor to be pleasantly strong (but only sweet, not spicy). I might make it with more tea (maybe 2.5-3 teaspoons for ~14 oz?), which makes the flavor strong and tasty for me.
I absolutely love this tea, but I use a ridiculous amount of tea to make it and add rock sugar. I like how adding more tea gives it a strog flavor while it stays smooth and fairly mellow. I just love it. Anyone like a similar tea they’d recommend? I’m looking for something like this; smooth, sweet, and not too spicy.
It is autumn, though it may not feel like it outside. The weather was nippy earlier this week and I was looking forward to enjoying some fall teas in actual fall weather. The chill did not last, though, it’s cold enough in my office that I’m going to pretend.
This was a sample I got from Den’s Tea when I ordered their $3 green tea sampler. I love hojicha – it is a strong savory tea. I normally buy it from the Asian market for cheap. Den’s hojicha was everything I already loved about hojicha magnified. The roasted flavor comes right on through. It brews dark, a lovely chocolate color, with a taste to match. SO GOOD.
Preparation
I was so excited. I wanted pumpkin spiced tea, so I snapped this up. I’m now wishing I hadn’t. Della Terra was sold out of all smaller sizes so I had to buy a 4 oz bag. I figured it’s pumpkin spice – I’d love it.
It’s okay. This is less pumpkin pie and more pumpkin puree with spices that aren’t pumpkin pie spices. The pumpkin is definitely there. There are some odd spices in there that don’t taste like pumpkin pie spices. Maybe some milk will help… (Tried it, and no, it didn’t.)
Preparation
This is so yummy. I don’t think I’ve ever had monkey bread before, but I just looked it up and it looks delicious and totally something I want in my mouth.
This tea was very caramel flavored, but it did not taste overpowering or artificial. There was no need for sweetener. I liked that chai was infused in the yogurt bits – that caused the chai to be a nice extra flavor instead of overwhelming the tea. The yogurt made it creamy.
Very yummy. Perfect fall tea.
Preparation
I think I prefer Teavana’s Caramel Almond Amaretti. This one has a tartness that the other doesn’t – possibly because the ratio of apple to other things is higher in this tea.
It’s still a good tea. I’m going to have to brew them side-by-side to better compare.
ETA: I just brewed a mug of Caramel Almond Amaretti. Forever Nuts is definitely tarter. The almond and cinnamon flavor is stronger in the Teavana tea. I also smelled the dried tea – the Teavana tea also smells more complex – more spices and flavors than David’s Tea. Interesting.
Preparation
Surprisingly delicious! I wasn’t expecting terribly much but it was a free sample with my order so what the hey.
The flavor is very nice, smooth, and fruity. Oddly enough, though, I can’t really taste some of the fruits in the ingredients list. Orange, definitely. A hint of pineapple, maybe. Mango, maybe if I really concentrate. Everything else? Not really.
Still, a nice tea and I am very much enjoying this. I think it would be great iced, too.
I am sorry to hear that. Did you steep it for less than 5 minutes? We usually think is a very flavorful rooibos tea. It is actually one of our best sellers here in Miami. What do you think is missing? Thank you for your feedback
I steeped it for a little over 5 minutes. I just couldn’t taste anything much other than “sweet”. I’ve drunk it several more times since and I have had the same experience. Blame my taste buds.
