This is not bad, but doesn’t quite live up to the name for me. It’s sweet and lightly spiced, but doesn’t stand out to me as tasting particularly like molasses, and I wish the spices were stronger. I grabbed this since I love blackstrap molasses, bu that’s definitely not the intent here. It ends up being mostly like a very mild, sweet chai.

This is ok. It mostly tastes like grape, artificial sweeteners, and a hint of something floral. It ends up being too sweet for me, and I think I would prefer it if they had been a little lighter on the grape. I would be interested in trying something similar that was less sweet.

Another potentially interesting blend ruined by stevia. Sigh. Not quite as terrible as some stevia teas, meaning I took a few sips before dumping it rather than just one.

Old Sample from Tea Sipper. This is a tart blend heavy on the hibiscus and rose hips and lightly flavored with apple. It’s quite drinkable, but I find myself wishing the apple was a little stronger. Stash’s Cinnamon Apple Chamomile is still my favorite apple tea.

This is dominated by the Hibiscus and Lemongrass, which I don’t really care for paired together.

I’m finally getting my cupboard back down to a manageable level. I ended up with a lot of tea last year, then I got pregnant and couldn’t drink or wasn’t interested in most of it. I bought some herbal teas I had a craving for and participated in several stash sales and tea boxes since I really enjoy participating in the community here on Steepster. I should be able to get through the last of my samples that are more than 6 months old in the next week or so. This is one of those older samples.

I’ve been interested in exploring oolongs further lately. Liquid Proust kindly sent me some samples. There’s such a wide variety of flavors of oolong! It’s a bit intimidating, but also exciting. This one is right up my alley, it’s soft, smooth, floral, buttery, and just slightly vegetal. It’s a comforting flavor. Not quite as appealing a floral tea as bai mu dan white, but it’s different enough and tasty enough that it I could see myself craving it occasionally. I think because of the butteryness, I might be most interested in this in the winter when I want something to warm me up.

This is a really interesting combination of flavors. It’s earthy and slightly grassy but those flavors are juxtaposed with a lovely strawberry flavor that has some sweetness and some sourness. It makes me think of strawberry picking, which is something I haven’t done in years. I think this is the first gyayusa blend I’ve tried that I would be interested in buying more of. A unique and appealing blend. This is definitely a Happy Tea!

I think this has lost most of it’s flavor, since it pretty much tastes like a smooth woody rooibos to be. Kind of a shame since it sounds like it was one a very interesting tea. Every reviewer seems to have had a different experience with this tea, which is interesting. I’d try it again if I had the chance.

Made this with milk and a bit of sweetener. This is unfortunately a bit light on the bergamot. It’s there, but I prefer it a bit stronger. If you want a milder Earl Grey, check this out. It might actually be better without milk

I brewed this with a splash of cold water for about a minute. This tastes mostly like spinach to me. My mother-in-law cooks fresh spinach and garlic in olive oil, and it’s the best spinach I’ve ever had. That’s what this reminds me of, but without the garlic. I’ve heard the adjective “brothy” used to describe green tea on occasion, and I think it might fit here. It has a savory vegetal flavor that makes me think of a hearty soup. I don’t taste any bitterness. It’s quite good, I’ll have to check out more Sencha’s in the future.
