Latte Sipdown (225)
This is very milky which is sad because it means the tea isn’t coming through as much as I’d like. That is probably my fault since I didn’t have the right amount of leaf for a latte but made one anyways. I was just excited because I did groceries today so for the first time in a while I have had milk in my apartment that didn’t come from McDonalds. Yay to groceries! Boo to weak tea. It is minty though.
In other news, does anyone get a weird smell when they froth milk? I have the breville milk frother and I find sometimes the milk smells weird after I heat/froth it. I don’t have the same issue if I just froth it. Just me?
Either the weather is kicking my butt or I am fighting something off because I have been lethargic for days. That means I went for something simple and added honey for a little oomph. Thanks Roswell Strange for sharing. It seems this is my go-to when I feel off lately.
Sipdown (229…apparently I had more teas than I thought)
After I pulled this out, I realized it would have probably been better to save this for St. Patrick’s Day so I could have a festive 365 days of tea picture. However, this blend is one of the older ones in my cupboard and I decided the sipdown outweighed the festive photo.
This is actually a pretty tea. Rolled gunpowder leaves with clover sprinkles and blue mallow petals. You can check out the photo here: https://www.instagram.com/p/B4nV5WBh1XH/
I was surprised that this is actually an EG but it definitely has a bergamot flavor. However, I actually don’t mind it here. It seems to pair nicely with the smokiness of the gunpowder and the sweetness from the sprinkles. It also is a fairly mild earl grey which could be due to age or intentional. Either way, it is more to my tastes than a sharper EG and I am actually quite enjoying this mug.
Decadent. sophisticated. elegant. – all words used to describe my hot chocolate infused with this tea.

About a year ago, I was a little obsessed with inside-out lattes. That’s where you make concentrated tea ice cubes and top them with milk. I initially made them with On Wisconsin tea and they were a but if a bust. As such, I went for this richer/more chocolatey tea.
This ended up tasting like thin mints dipped in milk. It was quite good.

I was inspired by Roswell Strange’s note of this tea seeing as I always overlooked it. Because I was unsure if I would like it, I got the brown sugar milk tea as well. I didn’t love either if I am being honest but I was surprised to find the brown sugar one had a richer more molasses/coffee flavor than the winter melon since those were notes Roswell Strange mentioned for this tea instead.
