6444 Tasting Notes
I made this while eating a baked brie covered with mango habanero jelly and working on my trusts law assignment. That was not what I intended on working on today but my partner is super on top of things and had already started drafting and I didn’t want to seem like a slacker. So I added to the assignment, hopefully useful information, and sipped on this tea.
Since I was focused on the assignment and not the tea, the sips were spread out and I don’t really remember much other than it being fairly meh. Decent but nothing special. It is now cold and seems to have maintained the same malt/flavor of the hot tea which is impressive that it is consistent at all temperatures. Still, at any temperature, there is nothing amazing about this. Good for every day, absent-minded sipping though. Thanks Roswell Strange for sharing!!
Sipdown (228)
I made the mistake of placing this directly in front of a fan. So it is cold now. It would have been better hot. It also would have been better had I finished this earlier given this is two years old. The most noticeable age deterioration is in the fading of the vanilla flavor, which is not helped by the cold temperature. Don’t get me wrong, the tea is still good. It just could have been better.
This was not in my cupboard despite Roswell Strange sharing it with me a little while back (thank you!) so I am back up to 229. Oh well.
Anyways, my throat has been a bit weird all day in the sense that I get this slight soreness when I swallow. Realistically it is probably nothing but I am still indulging in some tea and honey. Since green tea is recommended for colds and I don’t usually drink straight green teas, I thought now was a good as time as any to use some of the sample from Roswell.
It’s mostly honey-tasting (which makes sense since I put a lot), but it is not overly sweet. The base tea is providing a little bit of savory. It is actually really easy and really soothing to drink. I am half way done already. I am even debating resteeping the same leaves…which I never do b/c this cup is that nice on my throat.
I listed this as a sipdown last time I had it but then I found one more serving so not sure what happened there. Nevertheless, this is an actual sipdown and it is basically the same unimpressive cup as last time. A touch of orange. Mostly rooibos. A big ole cup of meh
A while back my mom was supposed to teach my brother’s (now ex) girlfriend how to bake. However, my mom is not the most reliable and so when she disappeared, that responsibility fell to me. We ended up making 5 different kinds of cookies and walnut fudge, which left us a small amount of sweetened condensed milk in the fridge.
I decided to experiment with the condensed milk and made an iced latte with this tea. It was like liquid caramel with some cinnamon and clove. Very sweet and likely would have been better hot but it was still nice.

Thank you for sharing, Cameron B!
A blooming tea that actually tastes pretty good. It has a distinctly red apple flavor with a wonderful juicy sweetness. Really quite good.

I ran in to DAVIDs to see the new teaware (which I already puchased online because I have no self control) and this was the tea of the day. I would have really enjoyed its gingerbread flavor but for the overly sweet blackberry leaf. As such, this was a miss for me. It does have a nice ginger/gingerbread flavor though if you dont mind the sweetness.
Made this as my Halloween tea in my Halloween mug because (1) Mordor is scary and (2) pu’erh is scary to me. So, it’s all sorts of festive.
After a couple sips, I will say this is alright. It doesn’t really taste like to pu’erh to me which is a big plus. However, it also doesn’t have much more than malt, which is bad. Maybe a bit leathery, which could be the combination of the two.
It’s fine but nothing special. Nevertheless, I am always happy to try something new so thank you Arby for sharing!
I was a bit worried about this one because it has licorice root but I tossed in a splash of lemon juice (to get the color changing effect) and it is actually quite good. It is obviously very lemony but also has a great pineapple scent that seeps into the flavor a little bit. That pineapple sweetness lends itself to a blueberry flavor that is softly intermingled with the more prominent lemon. Really quite nice.
That baked brie sounds amazing!
It was very good. I personally prefer Red Pepper Jelly b/c it is more flavorful than the Mango Habanero, surprisingly. However, this was a nice alternative.
